Hi fellow crafters! Welcome to the Heart of Christmas blog hop this week. I’m hopping along with fellow demonstrators on the Art With Heart team to showcase some wonderful Christmas projects every week until end of November. We’re into Week 9!
This week I have mostly used the Snowman Magic stamp and die bundle together with the Trees for Sale stamp set. My card is a slimline card using Basic White card base and measuring 21cm x 10.5cm, scored at 10.5cm on the long side.
To the card base I adhered a Smoky Slate DSP layer from the Gingham Cottage pack. The next layer was first inked up using Blending Brushes and Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent inks randomly over the panel. This panel was then dry embossed with the Wintry 3D EF. I then ran the Evening Evergreen blending brush again lightly over the raised embossed surface.
The Christmas trees from the Trees for Sale stamp set have been stamped in Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent inks. They were then die cut using the matching Tree Lot Dies. This die set also has dies to cut out the tree trunks and I’ve used Early Espresso card stock.
The snowman and rabbit are stamped with Smoky Slate ink and are from the Snowman Magic stamp set. The snowman’s arms are die cut from Early Espresso card stock and adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. The snowman’s hat is heat embossed with VersaMark and Silver embossing powder.
The sentiment is also from the Snowman Magic stamp set and has been stamped using Evening Evergreen ink. I die cut the sentiment using a square die from the Stylish Shapes die set and adhered to the mirrored Silver foil mat. A bow tied using Iridescent Trim has been adhered to the sentiment panel.
Lastly I added a small green Adhesive-backed pearl.
The inside snowflakes are from the Christmas Lights stamp set and stamped with Evening Evergreen ink.
I have also stamped the envelope with the snowflake stamp.
Please head on to the next participant for more Christmas inspiration the very lovely and talented Christine Blain.
If at any time you find a broken link please head to the blog of our lovely host, Sharon Davern and she will have the list of all those participating.
Hope you have a marvellous week ahead.
Beautiful textured, layered card Rosa, the Smoky Slate DSP and Evening Evergreen look lovely together
ReplyDeleteYour card really is magical! The background is so dreamy - I love the sweet little rabbit.
ReplyDeleteWell, this is pretty darn adorable, Rosa! I am particularly taken with the beautiful colour combination you've come up with, and the gorgeous embossed and ink-blended panel. The bunny is a very sweet addition.
ReplyDeleteRosa, the grey plaid layer looks great and I love the treatment that you’ve given the embossed layer! Cute little bunny and snowman and I love those trees. Great balance of all your elements. Love it! Caroline.
ReplyDeleteRosa, I've been struggling with how to use this gingham DASP but you have totally nailed on this card. I'm also particularly taken with your colour scheme - it is so subtle and elegant. Gorgeous card!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely card Rosa. The Gingham paper works beautifully with the Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent. Both the snowman and cute bunny add beautifully as well.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful evocative card Rosa. I love your choice of colours and your placement of elements. All so gorgeous. xxx
ReplyDeleteA lovely layout using the slimline sized card, Rosa. I haven't known how to use that bold gingham DSP either, but it's great behind your top textured layer.
ReplyDeleteRosa I love your slimline card. In particular I love the use of the smoky slate gingham patterned DSP as your matt to coordinate with your snowman and rabbit. It adds a touch of whimsy which is just right.
ReplyDeleteOh Rosa your card is just gorgeous! I love the background and what a great way to use the gingham. Love the scene you have created. Wonderful card. Sharon xx
