Colour Creations - Orchid Oasis Week 37

Hello fellow crafters! This week I am participating in the 2023-24 Colour Creations blog hop where team members of the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! demonstrators showcase a new colour every Wednesday. This week’s colour is Orchid Oasis, a purple-bluey colour.

I was keen to use the Hot Air Bslloon stamp and die bundle this week, a new product from the January - April mini catalogue. I took further inspiration from two DSP packs - the Meandering Meadow (an online exclusive) and Perennial Lavender (mini catalogue).

I’ve created two cards using the very cute hot air balloons floating in the sky.

In my first card I dry embossed the Basic White mat with the Timeworn Type embossing folder. The balloon elements and clouds were die cut using the Hot Air Ballon die set. The patterned balloon using Perennial Lavender DSP in addition to Crumb Cake card stock, 2022-24 In Colour Orchid Oasis Textured specialty paper and card stock for the baskets.

The sentiment from the coordinating stamp set is stamped using Orchid Oasis ink onto Crumb Cake card stock. I have snipped the ends of the sentiment. The checked DSP is from Perennial Lavender DSP and I’ve die cut a hole and tied some Gold Faux leather trim.

For my second card I have adhered a layer of Meandering Meadow DSP that’s full of clouds with touches of Orchid Oasis. The two balloons were die cut from a watercolour wash using Orchid Oasis ink on Fluid 100 Watercolor paper.

The balloon decorations and rope basket were die cut from card stock.

Colour Creations Night of Navy - Week 35

Hello fellow crafters! This week I am participating in the 2023-24 Colour Creations blog hop where team members of the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! demonstrators showcase a new colour every Wednesday. This week’s colour is Night of Navy, the darkest blue that is part of the Neutrals colour family.

For this weeks card I have used the following Stampin’ Up! products:
  • So Sincere Cling stamp set
  • Lifetime of Love die set (Jan-April mini catalogue)
  • Garden Meadow die set (Online exclusive)
  • Flight & Airy DSP (Sale-a-bration item)
The plain Basic White arch panel was something I had lying on my craft table from a previous project which I wanted to somehow use this week. I noticed that the oval floral arch from the Lifetime of Love die set sat nicely within the arch panel (die cut from the Garden Meadow die set).

I used a Blending Brush and Boho Blue and Night of Navy inks to apply colour to the arch panel. Before adhering the arch panel to the card base I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy ink. This sentiment is from the So Sincere cling stamp set.

The floral arch was die cut from Night of Navy card stock and adhered with glue to the coloured arch base. I have die cut some flowers using the lovely dies from the Lifetime of Love die set and Fresh Freesia card stock and Flight & Airy DSP (a watercoloured print with tones of Fresh Freesia). The floral colours match with the gorgeous little watercoloured bird that was fussy cut and adhered with dimensionals.

This DSP is a FREE item you can receive with a minimum spend on Stampin’ Up! products (AUD$90). My guess is that this DSP will sell out quickly as the prints are so pretty!

I have also adhered some Blooming Pearls to the flower centres. The pearls have a metallic shine in several different tones.

Hope you enjoy the remaining blog hop where you can find more Night of Navy inspiration from the very talented Tina Gillespie.

Colour Creations - Mossy Meadow Week 33

Hello fellow crafters! It’s a new year and I’m back joining in for this week’s 2023-24 Colour Creations blog hop where team members of the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! demonstrators showcase a new colour every Wednesday. This week’s colour is Mossy Meadow, a darker green that is part of the Neutrals colour family.

For this weeks card I am using the stamp and die bundle Garden Meadow and matching Meandering Meadows DSP. These items can be purchased as an ‘online exclusive’ and the DSP has some beautiful painted nature scenes that do all the work and so you can just add a sentiment to finish off your card.

The card stock base is Mossy Meafow and my card measurements are 21cm x 15cm. The card base is scored on the long side at 2.8cm, 5.6cm, then flipped over and scored using the same measurements on the other side.

I have then cut a 6” x 6” DSP panel to fit the middle section and the two outer panels. On the inner smaller panels I have adhered a layer of Subtles DSP in Soft Sea foam that was coloured with Mossy Meadow ink and a Blending Brush. This gives a softer colour to the full strength Mossy Meadow.

There are various dies in the set one of which is the gate panels and the other I have used are the grassy bits. The grass is two tones of green card stock in Mossy Meadow and Garden Green. These were adhered to the base and sides to create a Bridge-fold.

The sentiment is stamped with Blackberry Bliss ink onto Basic White card stock. I have used a new product from the January - May mini catalogue to die cut the sentiment. The die set is called Perennial Postage. I have also brushed the edges with a Blending Brush and Mossy Meadow ink.

To finish the card I adhered some of the cute brass Butterflies to the sentiment panel.

The card folds flat to one side, resulting in a 6” x 6” card. I will need to make a matching envelope before giving it to the recipient.

Hope you enjoy the remaining blog hop where you can find more Mossy Meadow inspiration from the very talented Christine Blain.
