Heart of Christmas 2022 - Week 4

Hello to everyone joining tonight for the Heart of Christmas blog hop. I’m hopping along with fellow stampers on the Art With Heart team to showcase some wonderful Christmas projects every week until end of November. We’re into Week 4!

I couldn’t wait to use the Lights Aglow DSP. It has the rich Christmas colours such as Cherry Cobbler, Evening Evergreen, Very Vanilla, Soft Succulent and Basic Black with Gold accents. The other product in this suite that I have used include the Brightest Glow stamp set for the sentiments.

The first card I have made is a bi-fold card. To each panel I adhered a DSP panel. The square panel is made up of several die cut squares using the Stylish Shapes die set. The starry layer is die cut from the DSP that has two square and two circle starry patterns which can be die cut using either a square or circle die. Makes it very easy to create eye-catching Christmas cards!

The inside of the card has a Basic White layer with thin strips of DSP either side.

The sentiment was stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I really like the variety of sentiments and fonts in the Brightest Glow stamp set.

The second card is made up of similar elements and in addition I added the photo corners to the card. These were die cut using the Fabulous Frames die set.

A closer look at the corners below.

Colour Creations Calypso Coral - Week 12

Hi and welcome to Week 12 of the Colour Creations blog hop where members of the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! demonstrators showcase a new colour every Wednesday. Tonight’s colour is Calypso Coral. This is an orangey or peachey sort of colour and quite cheerful when paired with other bright colours.

My card is a Z-fold design which I have been wanting to try for awhile. There are so many different fun folds that you can try and they are not really difficult at all. I have used the Splendid Day DSP and Splendid Stems Dies from the Splendid Day Suite of products.

The main base card is Basic White and the panels have been cut from Calypso Coral card stock and DSP. These were adhered to the base card.

The narrow front panel is Basic White then Calypso Coral card stock and the Happy Forest Friends DSP for the top layer. I adhered the narrow layer to the base card.

To arrange my pot of foliage I die cut pieces (including the bowl) using the Splendid Stems die set from Smoky Slate and Calypso Coral card stock. The lighter coloured stem was die cut from Fluid 100 Watercolour paper that was watercoloured with Calypso Coral ink and a touch of Mossy Meadow ink using a water brush.

I decided to join the watercolour challenge for the month of July and get out of my comfort zone as I don’t have a lot of confidence in my watercoloring ability! But I love the softness of colours that watercolouring brings to the end result.

I added some Fine Sparkle Adhesive backed Gems in Calypso Coral to the sentiment label.

Hope you enjoy the remaining blog hop where you can find more Calypso Coral inspiration from the next participant, who is also our lovely host, the very talented Cathy Proctor

Take care all, stay warm (for those in the Southern Hemisphere) and enjoy your week!

Heart of Christmas 2022 - Week 3

Hello to everyone joining tonight for the Heart of Christmas blog hop. I’m hopping along with fellow stampers on the Art With Heart team to showcase some wonderful Christmas projects every week until end of November.

In the Stampin’ Up! July to December 2022 mini catalogue you can find some gorgeous, shiny and glittery papers which I love to use whenever I can in my cards.

For tonight I have made a triple panel card with a belly band to show off some of those pretty papers as well as going with a non-traditional Christmas colour in Tahitian Tide. This is one of the new 2022-24 In Colours.

The card measurements are:

  • Card stock base Tahitian Tide - 9 1/2” x  6”. Scored at: 4 1/4”, 7” and 9 3/4”
  • 1x Gorgeous Gnomes DSP (largest panel) - 4” x 5 1/4”
  • 1x DSP Snowflakes Specialty Vellum - 2 1/2” x 5 1/4”
  • 1x Basic White card stock - 2 1/2” x 5 1/4”
  • 2x DSP In Colours DSP Assortments  andTahitian Tide Glimmer paper - 1” x 5 1/4”
  • Belly band - 9 1/2” x 1 1/2” card stock
  • DSP (for belly band) - 4 1/4” x 1” DSP

Next step is to assemble all the panels by adhering with glue adhesive or tear tape onto the base card stock. I have stamped the sentiment from the Brightest Glow in Tahitian Tide ink. The stamped stars are from the Trees for Sale stamp set.

The finished card when folded flat will measure 4 1/4” x 6”, ever so slightly bigger than the Australian standard card size.

Lastly I made the belly band, scoring at 2 1/2” one side, flipped it around and scored at 2 1/2” the other side. I adhered the small DSP panel to the centre with the Wonderful Snowflakes iridescent foil embellishment. To finish I added some of the gorgeous Adhesive backed Sequins & Gems with a Fine Sparkle Adhesive backed gem in the centre.

Please head on to the next participant who is also our lovely hostess for more Christmas inspiration, the very talented Sharon Davern.

Have a great week ahead and keep safe xx

Colour Creations Cajun Craze - Week 11

Hi there fellow stampers! It’s another Colour Creations blog hop and tonight’s colour is Cajun Craze. It’s sort of a terracotta colour,  more popular with masculine cards and so I have decided to make one this week to showcase this.

The bundle I have chosen to use is the He’s All That bundle which has some fabulous masculine stamps and DSP images. Perfect for the male who loves cars, camping or barbecuing! And of course there is Cajun Craze in the DSP.

To my Basic Black card base I adhered a Sahara Sand mat that was dry embossed with the Brick 3D embossing folder. The next DSP layer was roughed over the edges with scissors for a distressed look.

The tag was die cut using the Tailored Tags set tied with Black & White Gingham ribbon and Linen thread. I have stamped the sentiment in Cajun Craze ink and then die cut using the oval shape in the All That Dies set. The two banners were die cut using dies from the same set.

The He’s All That DSP has ephemera sheets of images that can be punched out and used. For my card I have adhered the burning bbq with dimensionals to coordinate with the background DSP and the sentiment. I also added some Rustic Metallic adhesive dots onto the bbq to look like heat beads. I think it sort of works!

Hope you enjoy the remaining blog hop where you can find more Cajun Craze inspiration from the next participant the very talented Kathryn Ruddick

Heart of Christmas 2022 - Week 2

Welcome to Heart of Christmas Week 2 and a blog hop to showcase Christmas projects of members of the Art With Heart team. I wanted to show this week three very similar designs but using different Designer Series Papers (DSP) you can get different looks.

The Silver & Gold 6”x6” DSP is a FREE item with a qualifying purchase from the SALE-A-BRATION catalogue available from 1July to 31 August 2022. The patterns on these are dots and stripes so perfect for Christmas card designs or other celebrations.

The other DSP I have used is Boughs of Holly and Distressed Gold Specialty DSP. Card stock bases are Evening Evergreen and Basic White. The stamp set is a returning set in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue - Peaceful Deer along with the coordinating Deer punch.

Firstly I stamped the deer with VersaMark onto Basic White and heat embossed with gold embossing powder and then used the Deer punch. The Stitched Circles die set also got a good workout for the cards and I’ve used both different sizes and papers of circles and scalloped circles.

The Basic White circles were stamped with evergreen trees in this stamp set in Evening Evergreen and Mossy Meadow inks and I took some inspiration from the annual catalogue on page 42 and stamped off to create depth in the background. I also stamped some trees separately, fussy cut them and then adhered with dimensionals next to the deer.

To finish off two of the cards I tied some bows using Gold Shimmer ribbon because Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without some gold and shimmer! I’ve also added some Brushed metallic adhesive dots. Hope these cards inspire you in your own projects.

Please head on to the next participant for more Christmas inspiration if you haven’t already done so, the very talented Tina Gillespie.
