Heart of Christmas 2025 - Week 12

Hello fellow stampers! Welcome back to this week’s Heart of Christmas Stampin’ Up! blog hop for 2025! Each week until 24 November 2025 the Art With Heart team will showcase Christmas cards and projects to inspire you to create your own.

My project for this week is not a card but a Christmas nutcracker and using the Stampin’ Up! Nutcracker Tags kit. I had created these Christmas nutcrackers a few weeks ago but have now noticed that this kit is no longer available. If you still have these tags you could use them or you can decorate the Christmas nutcracker in other ways.

I have started with an A4 sized Modern Christmas DSP. Next, I scored on the short side at 1cm, 6cm, 11cm and 16cm. That is, a 1cm tab to adhere the open side of the cracker and then scored every 5cm.

Here is a little video to show the steps to create the Christmas nutcracker.

How to make a Christmas nutcracker
  1. Take the A4 sheet and score on the short-side at 1cm, 6cm, 11cm and 16cm.
  2. Fold all scored sides and flatten with a bone folder. Fold sheet in half.
  3. Adhere the 1cm tab to the open side of the A4 sheet.
  4. Fold sheet in half again. The folded cracker will make it easier to cut the triangles later on.
  5. Mark from the top of the cracker at 4cm and 6cm. This will be the guide to make the triangle cuts. Repeat at the bottom of your cracker.
  6. Grab a ruler and fold slightly halfway between the 4cm and 6cm marks.
  7. Cut triangles from the 4cm mark and down to the 6cm mark.
  8. Repeat for the opposite side and then the same at the bottom of the cracker.

Decorate the front of your cracker…I have used the Nutcracker tags.

I have placed a box of four Ferraro Rocher chocolates that fitted perfectly to this sized Nutcracker, together with the cracker apparatus bought from a craft store. To finish I tied some Gold mesh ribbon bows.

Heart of Christmas 2025 - Week 11

Hello fellow stampers! Welcome back to this week’s Heart of Christmas Stampin’ Up! blog hop for 2025! Each week until 24 November 2025 the Art With Heart team will showcase Christmas cards and projects to inspire you to create your own.

This week’s card features a Square column fancy fold design and a Nutcracker from the Nutcracker Tags kit. This kit allows you to create twelve Christmas gift tags. But as soon as I saw this kit I immediately envisaged other possibilities such as cards!

To create this card I found a great video from a fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrator Stamp with Melissa. I have used the same measurements but adjusted the height of my card to 14.9 cm (or 5 7/8”).

The first card features the Traditions of Christmas DSP where each DSP panel was adhered to Real Red card stock and then onto the Basic White card base.

The Christmas flowers and foliage was die cut from the DSP (so no fussy cutting there!) using the Christmas Greenery die set. The Nutcracker was assembled as per kit instructions and I just snipped off the top where the twine would have slipped through if I had used it as a tag.

The sentiment from the kit is adhered with dimensionals to the front and I also adhered some red Traditional Sparkling sequins.

This is how the card looks from above.

The second card features the Elegant Pine Snowflakes DSP. The card was assembled the same ways as the first card. I love this little cheery handsome fella!

Heart of Christmas 2025 - Week 10

Hello fellow stampers! Welcome back to this week’s Heart of Christmas Stampin’ Up! blog hop for 2025! Each week until 24 November 2025 the Art With Heart team will showcase Christmas cards and projects to inspire you to create your own.

This weeks card is designed using the Peaceful Garden DSP. This paper has lovely dove images and foliage that can be used for Christmas or otherwise. And the colours include Basic Beige, Cloud Cover, Crumb Cake, Misty Moonlight and Secret Sea.

To the Cloud Cover card base I adhered strips of the dove images to the centre DSP panel. As you can see in the photo below it was easy to cut the ‘dove’ strips as the image was a mirror reflection.

I arranged some Faux Linen ribbon in Cloud Cover onto the centre panel. The sentiment was embossed and die cut from another favourite product I love to use, the Christmas Words Collage hybrid embossing folder. This time using Silver foil. It’s very pretty in real life and the silver is a matt look, rather than shiny.

The sentiment was adhered with dimensionals to a die cut label from the Traditional Labels die set. To finish off the card I adhered a bow to the front and some 2025-27 In Color Flat pearls in Cloud Cover and white Pearls of Beauty, a new embellishment set available from 4th November as an Online Exclusive.
