Colour Creations Moody Mauve - Week 36

Hello fellow crafters! Welcome to the Colour Creations blog hop where team members of the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! demonstrators showcase a new colour every Wednesday.

This week our feature colour is Moody Mauve. Following last week’s card I have yet again used some of the dies from the Memorable Blooms die set for my card this week.

The hexagon die used last week has a matching die! So you can use the plain-shaped hexagon and the second intricate floral die sits inside it which you can then put through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine with the Moody Mauve card stock.

A DSP layer was adhered to the Basic White card base. I have used Wildly Flowering DSP for both card outer and inner.

To make the hexagon card flap I folded a piece of Basic White card stock in half first before placing the plain hexagon die. One die side sat just over the fold to avoid cutting that side and produce a card flap.

I adhered the intricate floral piece to the top layer of the plain hexagon. This will hang over slightly on the right side of the card flap. Note the fold on the hexagon flap is on the right, to allow it to open from left to right.

The sentiment from the Sketched Butterflies stamp set is stamped with Moody Mauve ink. Some Brushed brass butterflies were also adhered to the front panel.

The image below shows the open card and hexagon flap. I stamped another greeting inside from the Labeled with Love stamp set. The presents were stamped with Blackberry Bliss ink. The inside

Before adhering the DSP and hexagon base to the card inner I adhered some of the beautiful Open weave trim on the right hand side.

I then adhered a DSP layer and an embossed Moody Mauve card stock layer to the card inner. The new Starstruck embossing folder is a free Sale-A-Bration item available with a qualifying purchase.

Next I adhered the hexagon base to the card inner.

I also die cut a second plain hexagon (single layer) and adhered this to the back of the front hexagon to provide more stability and to hide the second strand of trim that was adhered. Thus will allow you to tie a bow and secure the flap before giving to the card recipient.

You can also display and stand the card before tying the ribbon.

Hope you enjoy the remaining blog hop where you can find more Moody Mauve inspiration from the very talented Rachel Woollard.
