Colour Creations - Sweet Sorbet Week 4

Welcome fellow crafters! Hope you have had a good start to your week as we join the Art With Heart team’s colour challenge for this week. Tonight is the next Stampin’ Up! 2022-24 In Colour and it is Sweet Sorbet - a juicy pink/red.

The stamp sets I have used are Good Feelings from the new 2022-23 Annual Catalogue, Dahlia Days (from the Jan-June mini catalogue) and a returning fave Butterfly Brilliance.

The sentiment was first stamped with Blushing Bride ink and then I used the “rock ‘n’ roll” technique to add Sweet Sorbet ink to the edges.

I have used the new Fabulous Frames die set to die cut the rectangle frame from Sweet Sorbet card stock and adhered the stamped sentiment to this. This was then adhered on an angle using dimensionals to a layer of the In Colours DSP with the lovely floral pattern.

I was looking for an excuse to use the Cloud punch and thought the sentiment paired nicely! So I punched a shape from the Flowering Fields DSP and sponged the edges with Blushing Bride ink using a sponge dauber to add some dimension.

The floral elements were stamped and die cut using the Dahlia Days stamp and die bundle. I have used the same inks here too. I popped some Matte Decorative dots onto the flower centres.

The butterflies were stamped onto a Vellum layer in Sweet Sorbet ink and die cut with the matching dies. I then tucked the wings behind the frame to secure.

Luckily I managed to finish the blog tonight as we had a power outage and I had to try and find torches and candles using my phones torchlight! But it’s now back on thankfully otherwise it would have been a quiet night 😂

Hope you enjoy the remaining blog hop where you can find more Sweet Sorbet inspiration from the next participant the very talented, Ros Davidson.

If you find a broken link or have come to this blog hop from a different entry point, you can view the full list of participants on Cathy Proctor’s blog.

Please take care everyone!

Colour Creations - Starry Sky Week 3

Welcome to the AWH Colour Creations blog hop for 2022-23. It’s Week 3 and another new Stampin’ Up! 2022-24 In Colour to showcase tonight….Starry Sky. A beautiful blue that is in between Night of Navy and Misty Moonlight.

The sentiment from the Honeybee Home stamp and die bundle was stamped in Starry Sky ink onto Basic White card stock. The two floral pieces were die cut using the Honeybee Blooms Dies and from the new In Colours Glimmer Paper. It’s difficult to see the sparkle and glimmer but it’s just gorgeous and comes in ombré shades of each In Colour.

This bundle is available in the current January-June mini catalogue and also carrying over to the new 2022-23 Annual catalogue.

The scalloped edge is die cut using Scalloped Contours die set. I have added some Starry Sky Matte Decorative dots to the card.

Hope you enjoy the remaining blog hop where you can find more inspiration from the next participant who is also our host tonight, the very talented Cathy Proctor.

Enjoy the rest of your week and may you find time to do something that makes you happy…..hopefully making and sharing your cards!

Colour Creations - Parakeet Party Week 2

Welcome fellow crafters to another Colour Creations blog hop and week 2 in the team colour challenge. We are continuing with the new Stampin’ Up! In Colours 2022-24. The colour this week is a bright and cheerful green - Parakeet Party

The colour does remind me of a summer’s day with flowers blooming on bright green stems and that was my inspiration for this slimline card.

The stamp and die bundle used for my card tonight is Sending Smiles. The daisy flowers have been stamped with Fresh Freesia and Highland Heather inks and the stems with Parakeet Party (of course!) onto a Basic White panel. I have used Daffodil Delight ink for the  flower centres. I have also stamped them onto another piece of Basic White and die cut several pieces to adhere to the card and add layers of flowers in the meadow.

The sentiment is in two parts - the beautiful scripted font for the word ‘Sending’ is stamped with Fresh Freesia ink and die cut using a matching die in this bundle and the other with Parakeet Party ink. The sentiment is adhered to an In Colour DSP layer.

The entire front panel was adhered to an embossed layer in Parakeet Party card stock. I have used the 3D Hive embossing folder. This was then adhered to the Basic White card base. Lastly I added some Brass Butterflies to the card front.

Hope you enjoy the remaining blog hop where you can find more inspiration from the next participant the very talented, Theresa Gerrard.

Colour Creations - Orchid Oasis Week 1

Welcome everyone to an exciting new week where we are hopping along with the Art with Heart team blog hop. It’s new catalogue time, new products and new Stampin’ Up! In Colours 2022-24!

The excitement has been building up for the catalogue with demonstrator pre-orders and now it’s finally live!! The colour we are showcasing this week is the new (sorry but I might be using this word a lot tonight!) Orchid Oasis. Sounds exotic and it is a purple-blue sort of colour. More on the purple side.

The stamp sets used tonight are from the new Stampin’ Up! Annual catalogue 2022-23. The flowers from Happiness Abounds and sentiments from Sending Smiles.

For my first card I wanted to keep it clean and simple so I’ve used the masking technique using a circle cut out with the largest Layering Circles die from some card. I have used the Blending Brush to gently apply Orchid Oasis ink in circular motion. Next I inked up some flower stamps from the Happiness Abounds stamp set with Memento Black ink.

The sentiment from the Sending Smiles stamp set was stamped with VersaMark onto Basic Black card stock and heat embossed with White embossing powder. I used a label die from the matching die set. The stamp and die bundle is Sending Smiles

To finish off the card I have added some of the pretty ombré Matte dots in Orchid Oasis. It comes in all of the new In Colours 2022-24. I have also stamped a flower onto the envelope and blended ink to colour the flower.

For the next two cards I first stamped the flowers in Memento Black and Orchid Oasis onto a small panel of Basic White card stock which I then cut in half to mount on both cards.

Each printed panel was adhered to Orchid Oasis card stock die cut with a scalloped die from the Scalloped Contours die set. The scalloped panel has been adhered onto the Orchid Oasis DSP 2022-23.

Hope you enjoy the remaining blog hop where you can find more inspiration from the next participant the very talented, Sharon Davern.

CCBH Smoky Slate - Week 43

Hello fellow stampers! We’re into April and Week 43 for the Colour Creations blog hop where the lovely crafters in the Art With Heart team showcase projects using a different Stampin’ Up! colour each week. This week it is Smoky Slate. The lightest and softest grey in the Neutrals colour family.

This week’s card is a bi-fold card using the Symbols of Fortune DSP and Gold foil specialty paper. I cut panels from both and layered onto the front of the card. The DSP has beautiful prints on one side in Basic White, Smoky Slate and Gold foil. The other side of the DSP contains other colours and prints in Crumb Cake, Calypso Coral and Evening Evergreen.

The other element on the card is the circle panel that has been die cut using Layering Circles die set in Gold foil and DSP featuring a crane from the January to June mini catalogue.

Some Gold Shimmer ribbon was first adhered to the left front panel and back of the card before adhering the circle panel using dimensionals. I also added some mini Brass Butterflies to this panel.

The sentiment from the Artistically Inked stamp set was stamped with VersaMark onto Smoky Slate card stock and embossed with gold powder. I have used the smaller circle die and adhered with dimensionals to the card front.

To the inside of the card I adhered additional DSP panels and a Basic White scalloped panel die cut using Simply Contours die set.
The sentiment is stamped in Smoky Slate ink and is from the Celebrate You stamp set also in the mini catalogue but will carryover to the new 2022-23 annual catalogue. Yay I’m happy about that!

I have also decorated the envelope with more of the DSP to match the card.

Hope you enjoy the remaining blog hop where you can find more inspiration from the next participant the very talented, Diane Furniss.
