Colour Creations - Poppy Parade Week 40

Welcome to Week 40 of the Colour Creations blog hop. Team members of the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! demonstrators showcase a new colour every Wednesday. Tonight’s colour is Poppy Parade, a lighter and brighter red than the other two reds that Stampin’ Up! have -  Real Red and Cherry Cobbler.

I have made two cards this week using the Perched in a Tree stamp set and ended up stamping several birds to colour with Stampin’ Blends in Dark Crumb Cake, Bronze and L&D Poppy Parade. The birds were die cut using the matching die.

The first card has a Poppy Parade base and an embossed panel using the Cane 3D embossing folder. The ornate frames in Crumb Cake card stock were die cut with dies from the Framed Florets die set.

The sentiment is stamped using Poppy Parade ink and it’s from the Something Fancy stamp set. I fussy cut the words and adhered with dimensionals.

A closer look at the Cane 3D embossed panel. A double bow of Twine was adhered with a glue dot.

The second card has a DSP panel where the sides were roughed up with the edge of scissors. The Dainty Flowers DSP is a Sale-a-bration item that is you can get for FREE with a minimum spend ($90 AUD). And it’s very pretty with floral images and dainty patterns on the reverse. 

I adhered a bow using Old Olive Sand Twill ribbon. The sentiment is from the Celebrating You stamp set.

Colour Creations - Pool Party Week 39

Hi fellow stampers! Welcome to this weeks Colour Creations blog hop where members of the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! demonstrators showcase a new colour every Wednesday. Tonight’s colour is Pool Party, A light blue that sits in the Subtles colour family.

Tonight’s cards include something’old’ from the AC and something ‘new’ from the mini catalogue. The gorgeous DSP I have used this week is Texture Chic and it contains colours such as Pool Party, Evening Evergreen, Mango Melody, Petal Pink, Soft Succulent and Soft Suede. The other coordinating specialty paper is Distressed Gold.

I have used Pool Party card base for both cards. In my first card the next layer is the Distressed Gold paper and before adhering to the card base I die cut some sprigs and hexagons to use on both cards. The paper is just too gorgeous to waste whole layers! These and other leaf die cuts were die cut using Framed Florets and Something Fancy die sets (both Mini).

A DSP layer was adhered to the Distressed Gold and the sprigs, leaves and hexagons arranged with dimensionals or glue dots. The sentiment from Something Fancy is stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed with Gold embossing powder.

To finish I adhered a bow using Simply Elegant Trim and some Brushed Metallic adhesive backed dots.

I adhered another distressed-look DSP layer inside the card and the sentiment was stamped using Pool Party ink from the Celebrating You stamp set, a very versatile set with sentiments for many occasions.

The second card uses the same DSP but with Petal Pink which complements Pool Party nicely as both are in the Subtles colour family.  Pool Party can be seen in the DSP hexagon together with the shape stamped with the sentiment.

Colour Creations - Polished Pink Week 38

Hello and welcome everyone to the Colour Creations blog hop where members of the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! demonstrators showcase a new colour every Wednesday. Tonight’s colour is another pink following on from last week - Polished Pink, 

I really like this pink, a bright colour that reminds me of candy and sweets. Which is why I decided to use the Share a Milkshake bundle for this weeks card. The stamp set allows you to ‘build’ a milkshake but I’ve used it to create ice cream cones.

The card is a very basic ‘Barn door’ fancy fold of Polished Pink card stock. After scoring and folding a 14.8cm x 10.5cm card I cut horizontally (at approx. 7.4cm) to the score line and then along the score line to remove the top half.

On the front panel I adhered an embossed Basic White layer using the Gingham 3D EF. A Basic White scalloped circle and an Early Espresso circle die cut from the Neutrals 6”x6” DSP pack have been adhered together to the middle card front.

Now for the fun bit and build the ice cream and waffle cone! I stamped the ice cream scoops in two different sizes with Polished Pink ink. These were die cut with matching dies together with a plain white scoop of ice cream. The white scoop was also dry embossed with the Painted Texture EF to replicate the creamy texture. The Cherry was stamped with Sweet Sorbet ink.

The wafer cone die cuts and also embosses the pattern. I have inked the edges with Early Espresso using a sponge dauber. And then there is the lattice-type die to replicate a decorative chocolate lattice. Yummy!!

The sentiment on the card front is from the Share a Milkshake stamp set and was die cut with a die from Scalloped Contours die set. Some 2021-23 In Colour Opal rounds in Polished Pink have been adhered to the card front.

Inside the card the sentiment from Biggest Wish stamp set is stamped with Polished Pink ink. The ice cream bowl with a scoop of ice cream and cherry has been stamped/die cut.

Colour Creations - Petal Pink Week 37

Hello and welcome everyone to the Colour Creations blog hop where members of the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! demonstrators showcase a new colour every Wednesday. Tonight’s colour is Petal Pink, This colour sits in the Subtles colour family and so a much paler pink with orangey undertones.

From my recent Stampin’ Up! demonstrator order I managed to pick up some FREE Sale-a-bration products, including the Adorable Owls stamp set! These owls are so cute and allowed me to indulge in a bit of colouring using Stampin’ Blends.

The owls were stamped with Memento Black ink and I have coloured the images using Light and Dark Petal Pink, Bronze, Light Granny Apple Green, Light and Dark Mango Melody and Light Smoky Slate Stampin’ Up! Blends. The images were then fussy cut and put to one side.

I dry embossed a Petal Pink card stock mat using the Cane Weave 3D embossing folder. I also adhered a strip of Country Gingham DSP to the embossed mat and then adhered both to the Petal Pink card base.

The hearts have been fussy cut from the Country Floral Lane DSP. The soft colours and images are very pretty in this DSP. The hearts were then adhered to Petal Pink card stock and fussy cut again to allow a border around each heart.

The sentiment is from the owl stamp set and has been stamped with Petal Pink ink.

The male owl has a bow tie and I created the female owl by adhering Champagne Rhinestone jewels for her necklace. I also adhered some more Champagne Rhinestones and White Enamel Dot Essentials to the bottom of the card.

The inside sentiment has been stamped with Sweet Sorbet ink on a die cut Deckled Rectangle. This is from another new stamp set Shake a Milkshake in the January to April mini catalogue. I stamped another owl and coloured him with Stampin’ Blends too.

Colour Creations - Pear Pizzazz Week 36

 

Hello and welcome everyone to the Colour Creations blog hop where members of the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! demonstrators showcase a new colour every Wednesday. Tonight’s colour is Pear Pizzazz, This colour sits in the Subtles colour family, a subtle mid green.

I have made two cards and both using the Day at the Farm DSP that is available FREE as part of a qualifying purchase during Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-bration promotion. There is a coordinating stamp and die bundle in the Mini Catalogue that nicely complements the DSP. I have not purchased the bundle as yet but wanted to show that the patterned paper can be used on it’s own to create some cute cards. And it is definitely ideal for scrapbook pages too with a complete farm scene displaying a barn, windmill, pastures, blue sky and of course farm animals on a page.

In my first card I let the DSP do all the work and cut a 28.5cm x 14cm panel, scored at 9.5cm and 19cm. This was folded and adhered to a 10.5cm x 15cm Pear Pizzazz card base. Now it’s ready to just add sentiments, other embellishments or fussy cut farm animals. How easy is that?

The sentiments have been stamped with Pear Pizzazz ink using two stamp sets; Simply Fabulous and Something Fancy, the latter from the new Mini. I die cut the sentiments using matching dies to the Something Fancy stamp set. I also adhered a scalloped circle die cut behind the front panel to prompt the card receiver to pull and open the card from the left hand side.

My second card is a slimline tri-fold accordion card. The measurements can be found by searching Pinterest. The card base is Pear Pizzazz card stock and I adhered a Day at the Farm DSP layer to each panel. As in my first card I adhered different sentiments and fussy cut images of trees and farm animals.
