Welcome to Week 40 of the Colour Creations blog hop. Team members of the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! demonstrators showcase a new colour every Wednesday. Tonight’s colour is Poppy Parade, a lighter and brighter red than the other two reds that Stampin’ Up! have - Real Red and Cherry Cobbler.
I have made two cards this week using the Perched in a Tree stamp set and ended up stamping several birds to colour with Stampin’ Blends in Dark Crumb Cake, Bronze and L&D Poppy Parade. The birds were die cut using the matching die.
The first card has a Poppy Parade base and an embossed panel using the Cane 3D embossing folder. The ornate frames in Crumb Cake card stock were die cut with dies from the Framed Florets die set.
The sentiment is stamped using Poppy Parade ink and it’s from the Something Fancy stamp set. I fussy cut the words and adhered with dimensionals.
A closer look at the Cane 3D embossed panel. A double bow of Twine was adhered with a glue dot.
The second card has a DSP panel where the sides were roughed up with the edge of scissors. The Dainty Flowers DSP is a Sale-a-bration item that is you can get for FREE with a minimum spend ($90 AUD). And it’s very pretty with floral images and dainty patterns on the reverse.
I adhered a bow using Old Olive Sand Twill ribbon. The sentiment is from the Celebrating You stamp set.

Your red-breasted birds look amazing, and I love how you've framed them with the ovals. Wonderful cards!
ReplyDeleteThese red breasted robins look so realistic, Rosa. I love the texture and bold colour of your first card, as well as the subtle elegance of the DSP on your second card.
ReplyDeleteI love how you have coloured both those birds Rosa. Great cards.
ReplyDeleteTwo delightful cards Rosa. I so love your poppy parade breasted birds. You colouring is gorgeous. xxx
ReplyDeleteTwo lovely cards, Rosa. Card 1 is just so striking with the bold use of Poppy Parade, simple frame and very sweet bird. The embossed panel looks terrific, and adds great texture.
ReplyDeleteRosa you have created two lovely cards and your colouring is especailly beautiful. My favourite is the second one as I love the paper you have used and it all just works beautifully. Theresa
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards, Rosa. The birds are coloured beautifully and the oval frame looks just like the hanging swings that birds sit on. I love that Cane Weave embossed background!
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful cards, Rosa. I love the Poppy Parade embossed panel on the first card - a subtle, but gorgeous, detail. My favourite is the second card, as I'm a sucker for earthy tones with pops of red. I love your choice of background paper.
