Stampin’ Up! Blackberry Bliss - Week 5 AWH Blog Hop

Blackberry Bliss

Hello everyone and welcome to this week’s post! It’s a big week as we say goodbye to the Stampin’ Up! January-June Mini catalogue today. There have been some popular products which have thankfully carried over to the new Annual catalogue though. And it won’t be long until the new July-December Mini catalogue is available with all the Christmas and Halloween goodies - keep an eye out for it!

This week we take a look at Blackberry Bliss for the weekly Colour Creations blog hop. A dark burgundy wine colour from the Regals colour family which I have decided to pair with another neutral Crumb Cake.

The stamp set used is Handmade for You featuring some craft sayings that would be suitable for that crafty friend in your life. The  dressmakers mannequin is stamped in Blackberry Bliss ink onto a piece of Basic White that was cut with a rectangle die from the Stitched Rectangles die set.

The shadow below the mannequin is a stamp from the Friends are like Seashells stamp set and the stand was coloured in using Stampin’ Blends Dark Crumb Cake.

On the Basic White panel I have stamped the single tulip motif in Crumb Cake ink several times using the Stamparatus. The Craft Queen sentiment was stamped with Blackberry Bliss on Crumb Cake card stock and I used the Tailored Tags die to cut a shorter tag.

To the left side of the main panel I have used the Basic Borders die to cut two pieces, one in Basic White and Crumb Cake card stock. The various layers are adhered together and using dimensionals adhered to the Blackberry Bliss card base.

Of course to finish off with some sparkle I have added Gilded Gems and Opal Rounds.

For the inside of the card I have again used the border die to add interest to the Basic White base and stamps from Handmade for You and Elegantly Said for the sentiment.

I have also made a matching gift tag using the Tailored Tags die again with some ribbon and thread tied to the tag. Striped Blackberry Bliss ribbon, White twine (both retiring today) and Linen Thread. The same bling gems as the card have been added. This time the sentiment has been die cut using a die from the Tasteful Labels die set.

Thank you so much for stopping by this week and hope you enjoy the remaining blog hop and find more inspiration from the next participant Vicki Boucher.

Stampin’ Up! Bermuda Bay - Week 4 AWH Blog Hop

Welcome back everyone for this weeks colour for the AWH Team Colour Creations blog hop Bermuda Bay. A bright and breezy blue that reminds me of summer and the beach. Alas here in Melbourne it’s freezing but hopefully the card I have made this week brightens the wintry days!

This weeks card is a bit different to my usual cards with a fun angle. I have CASEd this card from a member of a card swap group which I belong to. Normally I would give credit to that person but as I don’t know them well and not sure if they have their own social media sites I will just say thank you Sarah W for a brilliant idea!

There is very little stamping on this card as I wanted to use the Snail Mail DSP before it retires with the January-June mini catalogue on 30 June next week! So if other products have caught your eye in this catalogue now is the time to purchase before they disappear.

The card layers are cut as follows:

Card base
  • Bermuda Bay card base: 15cm x 10.5cm; Scored at 7.5cm long end
  • Basic White panel (x2): 10cm x 7cm
  • DSP panel (x2): 9.5cm x 6.5cm
Long strip
  • Bermuda Bay card stock: 17.5cm x 2.5cm; Scored 1cm from each end
  • DSP panel: 15cm x 2cm
Short strip
  • Bermuda Bay card stock: 9.5cm x 5cm; Scored 1cm from each end
  • DSP panel 9cm x 4.5cm
Back of card
  • Basic White panels (x2): 10cm x 7cm
Adhere strips to make the layers and don’t forget to use a bone folder to flatten the scored edges. This will help to stand the card.

Next I have both fussy cut and die cut the snails and mushrooms from the same DSP to have them ready to attach to the different layers. They can be attached after the strips have been attached.

The assembled short strip can be attached using the scored tabs to the centre of the card base, with the bottom edge aligned to the bottom edge of the card base.

The long strip can then be attached to the back of the card using double-sided tape, with the bottom edge aligned to the bottom edge of the card base at the front of the card.

Once the main card was assembled I added the various cutouts. The sentiment at the front is from the Turtle Friends stamp set in the new Annual catalogue and was stamped with Bermuda Bay ink.

To make the card stand I gently bent it until the front strips curved outwards. The view of the card from above.

On the back of the card the two Basic White panels were adhered along with more cutouts and the sentiment from Friends Are Like Seashells stamp set. The bird stamped in Daffodil Delights ink is also from Turtle Friends stamp set.

Hope you have enjoyed this week’s card as much as I have making it and it all came together very quickly once the layers were cut.

Thank you so much for stopping by this week and hope you enjoy the remaining blog hop and find more inspiration from the next participant Tina Gillespie.

Stampin’ Up! Basic Gray - Week 3 AWH Blog Hop

Hi everyone welcome to Week 3 of the Art With Heart team blog hop where we go through the Stampin’ Up! ink colours in alphabetical order for 2021-22.

Basic Gray is this week’s colour from the Neutrals colour family. There are three grays and this is the darkest shade.

My card for this week uses the You’re a Peach DSP which I love and thought there are shades of a gray in there as well as the Calypso Coral and Pale Papaya would complement nicely with the gray.

I also wanted to showcase the new Basic Borders die set and have used these on the DSP. The card stock base is Basic Gray and has been embossed with the Painted Textures embossing folder.

The sentiment is from Sweet As A Peach stamp set which has some cute greetings and sayings and I really like this font too. It had been heat embossed with white powder on Basic Gray cards stock.

The sentiment along with more of the same DSP was cut using the Tailor Made Tags another very versatile set that I can see being used a lot. To finish off I have used White twine to wrap around the card and tie the tags to the front.

I have also made matching gift tags and here the sentiment has been stamped in Old Olive ink. The ribbon is the Open Weave in the new In Colour Pale Papaya.

To showcase another border die I made a second card that uses the Simply Elegant DSP. This paper is very rich and elegant with gold, silver and copper patterned paper but also Very Vanilla and Basic Gray as well which has been used in this card.

The card stock base is Very Vanilla layered with the DSP and Soft Succulent card stock where one end had been cut with a curved die from the Basic Borders die set.

The sentiment from the Biggest Wish stamp set is stamped in Soft Succulent ink. I have added some Soft Succulent In Colour Jewels for some bling elements. And finally some Open Weave ribbon too.

Thank you so much for stopping by this week and hope you enjoy the remaining blog hop and some more inspiration from the next participant, the lovely Michele Taylor.

Stampin’ Up! Balmy Blue - Week 2 AWH Blog Hop

A very warm welcome (from arctic Melbourne) to everyone joining this week for the new 2021-22 blog hop with the Art With Heart team. It is week 2 and Stampin’ Up! Balmy Blue is the colour in the spotlight this week.

This colour belongs to the Subtles colour family and a light blue that’s not too pale or bright.

Balmy Blue

I’m in need of more birthday cards for my stash so have taken the opportunity to make one for the blog but will make a few more. The Butterfly Brilliance bundle takes centre stage for this card where the butterflies have been stamped using VersaMark on Vellum paper and heat embossed with White embossing powder. The sentiment also heat embossed on Basic Black card stock - the same greeting I’ve used in a recent previous post.

The Basic White card stock base is layered with Subtles DSP Assortments in Balmy Blue and I have run my scissors along the edge to give it a distressed look.

The next layer on top is Balmy Blue card stock cut using a scalloped die from Stitched So Sweetly set. The sentiment is also cut from the same die set. The scalloped panel was then run through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine sever times using a die from Brilliant Wings die set that added textured cuts to the card which you can hopefully see in the close up pic.

I have added a double bow using Linen thread and the silver Simply Elegant Trim. The silver trim is lovely to use and holds shape nicely.

To finish the card I have embellished it with some Matte Black adhesive dots and Opal rounds.

Thank you so much for stopping by this week and hope you enjoy the remaining blog hop and some more inspiration from the next participant, the talented Fiona Ryan.
