Colour Creations - Orchid Oasis Week 1

Welcome everyone to an exciting new week where we are hopping along with the Art with Heart team blog hop. It’s new catalogue time, new products and new Stampin’ Up! In Colours 2022-24!

The excitement has been building up for the catalogue with demonstrator pre-orders and now it’s finally live!! The colour we are showcasing this week is the new (sorry but I might be using this word a lot tonight!) Orchid Oasis. Sounds exotic and it is a purple-blue sort of colour. More on the purple side.

The stamp sets used tonight are from the new Stampin’ Up! Annual catalogue 2022-23. The flowers from Happiness Abounds and sentiments from Sending Smiles.

For my first card I wanted to keep it clean and simple so I’ve used the masking technique using a circle cut out with the largest Layering Circles die from some card. I have used the Blending Brush to gently apply Orchid Oasis ink in circular motion. Next I inked up some flower stamps from the Happiness Abounds stamp set with Memento Black ink.

The sentiment from the Sending Smiles stamp set was stamped with VersaMark onto Basic Black card stock and heat embossed with White embossing powder. I used a label die from the matching die set. The stamp and die bundle is Sending Smiles

To finish off the card I have added some of the pretty ombré Matte dots in Orchid Oasis. It comes in all of the new In Colours 2022-24. I have also stamped a flower onto the envelope and blended ink to colour the flower.

For the next two cards I first stamped the flowers in Memento Black and Orchid Oasis onto a small panel of Basic White card stock which I then cut in half to mount on both cards.

Each printed panel was adhered to Orchid Oasis card stock die cut with a scalloped die from the Scalloped Contours die set. The scalloped panel has been adhered onto the Orchid Oasis DSP 2022-23.

Hope you enjoy the remaining blog hop where you can find more inspiration from the next participant the very talented, Sharon Davern.

If you find a broken link or have come to this blog hop from a different entry point, you can view the full list of participants on Cathy Proctor’s blog.

Have an amazing week ahead!

  2. You have made Orchid Oasis the star of all your cards, so beautifully, Rosa. I love the stamping in Memento Tuxedo Black, to go with this gorgeous new colour, and your use of the sentiments from Sending Smiles was a great choice. I've already ordered more of those lovely Matte Decorative Dots; so pretty!
