I wasn’t sure what type of card to make this week but the colour Tahitian Tide suggested a sea theme so I went with the Friends are like seashells stamp set. I stamped the different seaside elements using Tahitian Tide and Crumb Cake inks and die cut each one.
I adhered a black and white All Together DSP layer to the Basic White card base. To assemble my card I first adhered the two shells to the DSP layer. The next layer is a plain sheet of the Lovely Layers vellum that was distressed with scissors across the edges and I also tore corners and sections. This pack of vellum also includes printed sheets. I strategically placed some glue dots behind the vellum where the top elements would sit over and hide those glue dots.
Next came the fancy frame in Tahitian Tide card stock that was die cut using the Fabulous Frames die set. This die set contains several different shapes and sized frames as well as photo corner mounts. The frame was adhered onto the vellum layer and the starfish and seaweed elements were then adhered to the frame using dimensionals.
To finish off the card I added some In Colour Decorative Matte Dots, a Linen thread bow and white embossed birthday sentiment from the just retired stamp set Elegantly Said.

ReplyDeleteTahitian Tide goes so well with black and white but the addition of crumb cake just adds to it. I also thought of a seaside theme but couldnt pull it together.
