Hi and a Happy New Year to everyone! I’m excited to welcome you back to Week 34 of the Colour Creations blog hop where members of the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! demonstrators showcase a new colour every Wednesday. Tonight’s colour is Pacific Point. Part of the Brights Collection it is a bright deep blue and for this reason I have toned it down using ink wash on Watercolour paper.
The two cards feature new products from the upcoming Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalogue (January-April 2023). This catalogue will be available to everyone from 5 January 2023. In addition, a new Sale-a-bration period begins with some lovely freebies available with a minimum spend ($90 AUD).
The products used for both cards include the Framed Florets stamp and die bundle and Fancy Flora DSP (6” x 6”).
I started by stamping several flowers using the different florals from the Framed Florets stamp set onto Fluid 100 watercolour paper. I have coloured the flowers using Pacific Point and Orchid Oasis (a blue-purple) inks and a Water Painter brush. Once dried the watercoloured flowers were die cut and set aside.
For my first card I adhered a DSP panel to the Basic White card base with a thin border of Pacific Point card stock. The DSP layer has both Balmy Blue and Orchid Oasis colours that coordinates nicely with the paler watered down Pacific Point ink.
The sentiment from the Framed Florets stamp set has been stamped in Pacific Point ink on Basic White card stock and then die cut using one of the frame dies in the Fabulous Frames die set.
The flowers and stems/leaves were adhered with dimensionals along the plain side. Each flower has a Pacific Point Fine Sparkle Adhesive-backed gem adhered to it.
Inside the card
My second card has a Pacific Point card base to which I adhered a Basic White die cut panel using the pretty heart framed die. This die cuts out the heart shapes and I then used a second oval die to cut out the middle frame. I used the same oval die to cut from the DSP and adhered the DSP oval shape to the card centre.
The sentiment from the same stamp set is stamped with Pacific Point ink and die cut using a die from Tailored Made Tags die set.
To finish I have added more Pacific Point Fine Sparkle Adhesive-backed gems and a double bow in silver Elegant trim.
Hope you enjoy the remaining blog hop where you can find more Pacific Point inspiration from the next participant, the very talented Amie McIllroy.
What beautiful water colouring, Rosa. I love the toned down Pacific Point and the green & purple tones you've included from the DSP. This DSP is so beautiful and makes your card look painted with acrylics and water colouring! Fantatic.
