Heart of Christmas 2023 - Week 13

Hello fellow stampers! Welcome to week 13 of the Heart of Christmas Stampin’ Up! blog hop for 2023! Each week until 27 November the Art With Heart team will showcase Christmas cards and projects to inspire you to create your own.

My card for this week is a ‘Book-fold’ fancy fold card using the Winter Meadow DSP. I’ve gone for a wintry theme with silver and blue colour palette and playing with the Wishes All Around stamp and die bundle from Stampin’ Up! 2023 September-December mini catalogue.

My Basic White card base was scored in half and then scored 3cm from the centre score to create the ‘book fold’. The shiny Snowflake Magic Specialty paper was cut to size and adhered to Pretty Peacock mat card stock and then onto each panel.

The gorgeous snowflake wreath was die cut with a matching die using Pretty Peacock Soft Shimmer Specialty paper. It’s a bit difficult to see in the daytime but this paper does twinkle under artificial lights. The sentiment from the Wishes all Around stamp set is stamped using Pretty Peacock ink onto printed paper with a watercoloured effect. The sentiment was then die cut with a circle die from the Stylish Shapes die set. This circle size fits perfectly with the snowflake wreath!

Before adhering the smaller panel to the base I tied some ribbon around the panel using Silver & White Sheer ribbon and Silver Trim.

The sentiment inside the card is from the More Wishes stamp set and stamped onto DSP which still allows you to write a message over the water coloured print. The beautiful shiny blue paper with white stars is adhered to the bottom. The snowflakes have been die cut - there are three single dies in this set which allows you to die cut a few at the same time!

Heart of Christmas 2023 - Week 12

Hello fellow stampers! Welcome to week 12 of the Heart of Christmas Stampin’ Up! blog hop for 2023! Each week until 27 November the Art With Heart team will showcase Christmas cards and projects to inspire you to create your own.

This week I’ve been inspired to use DSP from the Winter Meadow and the specialty DSP Snowflake Magic from the September to December mini catalogue. Some of the colours in the papers include Lost Lagoon, Moody Mauve, Misty Moonlight, Shaded Spruce and Smoky Slate.

The stamped images are from the So very Merry stamp set which is only available as an ‘online exclusive’. The bells, bird and Gingerbread house have been coloured using Stampin’ Blends colours Lost Lagoon, Moody Mauve, Shaded Spruce, Smoky Slate and Wild Wheat. The images were then fussy cut.

The first card is 5 1/4” inch square in size to allow for a mat underneath each decorated square die cut from the Stylish Shapes die set.

The sentiments that I’ve used are from several stamp sets including So very MerryStars at NightSaint Nicholas and Brightest Glow and they have been stamped with Moody Mauve and Lost Lagoon inks.

I have also added some Soft Succulent Festive Pearls (similar in colour to a pale Lost Lagoon) and Moody Mauve 2023-25 In Colour Dots.

My second card is very similar but without the coloured mat. I adhered a Basic White mat to the the card base.

The die cut squares were adhered with dimensionals to make them pop up.

Heart of Christmas 2023 - Week 11

Hello fellow stampers! Welcome to week 11 of the Heart of Christmas Stampin’ Up! blog hop for 2023! Each week until 27 November the Art With Heart team will showcase Christmas cards and projects to inspire you to create your own.

Stampin’ Up! have released a few more products under the Online Exclusives section where some items coordinate nicely with those in the September - December Mini catalogue. One of these products is the Traditions of St. Nick DSP.

One of the sheets contain images of the traditional Saint Nicholas and these can be die cut with matching dies from the Saint Nicholas stamp and die bundle. Super easy! The Christmas trees are from the same sheet and have been fussy cut.

The card is normal size and opens in the middle where each flap has a Mossy Meadow card stock base and a DSP layer. The patterned paper sides contain a few sheets with the rich brocade pattern that complements the traditional images of St. Nick.

The centre panel with the Noel greeting was lying around from a previous project using the Joy of Noel stamp set. I have stamped with Real Red ink and gold-embossed the ‘Joyous’ sentiment. This panel locks behind St. Nick (raised on dimensionals) to close the card.

When you open the card the centre panel displays the same brocade panel with the Basic White panel for written messages. The panels on either side have a DSP panel mounted on Mossy Meadow card stock.

The inside sentiment is from Saint Nicholas stamp set and inked with Real Red.

Heart of Christmas 2023 - Week 10

Hello fellow stampers! Welcome to week 10 of the Heart of Christmas Stampin’ Up! blog hop for 2023! Each week until 27 November the Art With Heart team will showcase Christmas cards and projects to inspire you to create your own.

With Christmas in just over 2 1/2 months (77 days to be exact) it’s never too early to start making your cards! For this week I wanted to make a quick card with very little stamping and using the Beary Christmas DSP.

This DSP contains some cute polar bears and other snow animals which we don’t see in Australia so I’ve used the deer image which is more relatable for us Aussies. The reindeer was die cut using the Deckled Rectangles die set and then framed with a panel of Real Red card stock.

This panel was adhered to the ‘starry’ DSP with dimensionals. The presents were fussy cut and with some Cherry Cobbler Festive Pearls adhered to each gift. The sentiment on the front of the card is from Brightest Glow stamp set and stamped with Real Red ink.

The sentiment inside the card is stamped with Real Red ink and also from the Brightest Glow stamp set. I have added a DSP strip and the buck image at the bottom of the card.

Please head on to the next participant for more Christmas inspiration our lovely host and very talented Sharon Davern. If you come across a broken link she will also have the full list of participants.

Have a lovely week ahead everyone!

Heart of Christmas 2023 - Week 9

Hello fellow stampers! Welcome to week 9 of the Heart of Christmas Stampin’ Up! blog hop for 2023! Each week until 27 November the Art With Heart team will showcase Christmas cards and projects to inspire you to create your own.

For this week I have made a card and gift tag and using Christmas DSP and non-festive DSP.

The card is a fun-fold called a double-flap fun-fold and so easy to put together! The card base is Lost Lagoon card stock and half the front flap has been cut off and then a similar-sized card base was also cut with a DSP panel adhered to both front panels. The collection is the Winter Meadow DSP.

The sentiment from the Night Devine stamp set was stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed with Copper embossing powder. I fussy cut the sentiment and adhered with dimensionals.

The DSP adhered to the base of the card is actually Autumn-themed images on one side and the reverse side features beautiful patterned copper foil paper. The collection is All About Autumn DSP. The foil pattern of the DSP looks like gold in the photo but it is in fact copper. Some of the other papers do have gold foil patterns.

To finish off I have adhered some adhesive-backed Neutral Sequins.

The sentiment inside the card is from Saint Nicholas and stamped in Pretty Peacock ink.

The gift tag has been die cut using a circle die from the Stylish Shapes die set.

I also tied some Lost Lagoon Bordered ribbon and white Herringbone ribbon.
