Stampin’ Up! Shaded Spruce – AWH Colour Creations Showcase Week 46

Hello everyone! Can you believe it's pretty much the end of April (scary thought as it's nearly mid-year!) and so we have Shaded Spruce, a medium to dark green, for
this weeks Colour Creations Showcase.

I have been wanting to use the Butterfly Brilliance stamp set awhile now and so thought this week would be a good opportunity to take it out and colour the amazing butterflies in different shades of greens and blues, including Shaded Spruce. Love, love, love these butterflies and can see them not only used in card making but scrapbooking, mixed media and whatever else takes your fancy....

The card base is Shaded Spruce card stock with a layer of Butterfly Bijou DSP on top (hopefully you were lucky enough to get a pack during the promotion period in March as it is now sold out).

So the Butterfly Brilliance stamp is made up of six butterfly designs set on a single stamp. This allows all six to be cut in one go using the Stampin' Cut and Emboss machine with the matching die set, saving lots of time!

Before cutting I had coloured several of the butterflies using Stampin' Blends in Shaded Spruce, Mint Macaron, Bermuda Bay and Pool Party in both light and dark inks. And to get the highlights I have used the Colour Lifter pen.

The greeting is from the Dressed to Impress stamp set which I have stamped in Versa Mark on Basic Black card stock, added White embossing powder and then heat set. I then fussy cut the 'Hello' greeting. Both butterflies and greeting were adhered with dimensionals onto the DSP layer. To finish off I have added a few Matte Black Dots.

I hope you've enjoyed this weeks cards and for more inspiration from the other lovely ladies you can hop over to Cathy Proctor's blog. Thanks for stopping by and stay warm (for those in southern Australian states) and happy!

Stampin’ Up! Seaside Spray – AWH Colour Creations Showcase Week 45

Hello to everyone who may have come across from Cathy's blog for this weeks AWH Colour Creations Showcase and design inspirations using Seaside Spray. This is a retiring 2019-2021 In Colour that is pale blue and one of my favourites so I will definitely miss it when it goes.

I have made two cards to showcase the use of stamps and dies from the Friends are like seashells bundle. This bundle is available now in the January-June mini catalogue and will also carry over to the new Stampin' Up 2021-22 Annual Catalogue.

The first card uses the Sand & Sea DSP where one layer has been torn across to create the 'sandy' layer that meets the Seaside Spray blue 'waters'. I have stamped the different beach items using Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake and Seaside Spray inks and either stamping or blending ink colours over them. The shells, coral and starfish were layered and adhered using dimensionals on top. Behind the starfish I have tied the Polka Dot ribbon with Linen Thread to add some texture too.

The sentiment is again from the same stamp set inked in Seaside Spray with sand grains inked in Sahara Sand. Lastly I have added some Opal Rounds and what a bonus these will also carry over to the new annual catalogue.

My second card showcases some more of the Sand & Sea DSP which have been punched out using the Rectangular Postage Stamp punch

This is a quick and simple card that only uses the punch, the Pinewood Planks embossing folder (unfortunately retiring but you may get in quick to purchase in the Last Chance Products Sale!) and another stamped sentiment from the set used in the first card. It has quite a few versatile sentiments for birthday and friendship. Again I have added some Linen Thread and Opal Rounds to add texture and sparkle!

I hope you've enjoyed this weeks cards and for more inspiration from the other lovely ladies you can hop over to Cathy Proctor's blog. Thanks for stopping by and until next time please take care and may you spend some quality time doing what you love!

Stampin’ Up! Terracotta Tile – AWH Colour Creations Showcase Week 43

Welcome to another week of colour inspiration with the AWH teams Colour Creations Showcase with a focus on Terracotta Tile a 2019-21 In Colour that will soon be retiring.

My inspiration this week was to use some of the Ice Cream Corner DSP from the January-June mini catalogue. If you are interested in the suite collection it contains, in addition to the DSP, the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set, an Ice cream cone builder punch, Blackberry Bliss striped ribbon and sprinkles for some colourful and fun products to make your cards. Most of these items will carry over to the new 2021-22 Annual catalogue.

I decided to make a side-ways Z-fold card to add some interest this week. For the main card base I have used Petal Pink that measures 29.8 cm x 10.5 cm (scored long side at 7.4 cm and 14.8 cm) and folded along the scored lines to create the Z-fold. The Ice Cream Corner DSP has been mounted onto Terracotta Tile card stock on both the front and inside panels.

I really wanted to make a rainbow as my focal point as for some reason it popped into my head and so I have chosen card stock colours that seem to tie in nicely with the DSP: Terracotta Tile, Calypso Coral, Blushing Bride and Petal Pink. The rainbow was made from the circle dies in the Stitched Shapes die set and the 'ring' cut out by placing the smaller circle inside the bigger circle for each colour except the last Petal Pink circle that was left whole. Each rainbow layer was then mounted onto an adhesive sheet to secure before mounting the shape onto the front Calypso Coral and DSP panel.

The sentiments on both the front and inside of the card are from the In Bloom stamp set which is found in the January-June mini catalogue but will also carry over to the new 2021-22 Annual catalogue. Such a pretty set and I especially love the coordinating dies called Pierced Blooms.

The front sentiment has been stamped with Versamark, then Terracotta Tile ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder to give it a nice shine. The ice cream images have been fussy cut from the DSP and adhered to the front panel and also inside the card. The rainbow panel was then adhered to the Z-fold front panel.

Happy Easter with Stampin' Up! Pierced Blooms dies

Wishing everyone a very happy Easter and may this year bring you closer to family and friends who you may have missed catching up last year. For us we were in lock down last year and spending Easter at home and not being able to go anywhere was all new territory so this year it is a relief that we have our freedom to go wherever we want....something which I am very thankful for!

My Easter card that I made is for my teen daughter and I wanted to make something fun and colourful but hopefully not too childish for her. For the bunny head I have used the oval and circle dies from Stitched Shapes which will be retiring soon. The ears were shaded with Rococo Rose ink using a blending brush and adhered to the circle to make the head. I have used the Black matt dots for the eyes, a shape from the Pierced Blooms die set for the nose (which is really the centre of a flower) both of which are from the January-June mini catalogue out now and drew the mouth using Black Stampin' Write marker.

The floral pieces were all cut from the Pierced Blooms die set and I had such fun arranging them around the head. Card stock colours used were Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, Highland Heather, Melon Mambo, Petal Pink and So Saffron. I then added a bow from the same set in Blushing Bride and added Champagne Rhinestones to the floral crown on the bunny's head.

The DSP layer is from the In Good Taste pack and which I am so happy it will carry over to the new catalogue that you will be able to order products from 4 May. I have used the word 'Happy' from the Happiest of Birthdays stamp set and masked the remaining words in that sentiment. And lastly, the colourful letters have been cut from card stock adhered to the foam sheets using the Playful Alphabet die set for the word 'Easter'.

Shop for items in the Last-Chance Product Sale for those items you wished you had before they retire in May or June. Note, the 2020-21 Annual catalogue ends on 3 May and the January-June mini catalogue will end on 30 June.

Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you on Wednesday for the Art With Heart teams Colour Creations Showcase for one of the retiring 2019-21 In Colours: Terracotta Tile. Until then take care xx
