I have been wanting to use the Butterfly Brilliance stamp set awhile now and so thought this week would be a good opportunity to take it out and colour the amazing butterflies in different shades of greens and blues, including Shaded Spruce. Love, love, love these butterflies and can see them not only used in card making but scrapbooking, mixed media and whatever else takes your fancy....
The card base is Shaded Spruce card stock with a layer of Butterfly Bijou DSP on top (hopefully you were lucky enough to get a pack during the promotion period in March as it is now sold out).
So the Butterfly Brilliance stamp is made up of six butterfly designs set on a single stamp. This allows all six to be cut in one go using the Stampin' Cut and Emboss machine with the matching die set, saving lots of time!
Before cutting I had coloured several of the butterflies using Stampin' Blends in Shaded Spruce, Mint Macaron, Bermuda Bay and Pool Party in both light and dark inks. And to get the highlights I have used the Colour Lifter pen.
The greeting is from the Dressed to Impress stamp set which I have stamped in Versa Mark on Basic Black card stock, added White embossing powder and then heat set. I then fussy cut the 'Hello' greeting. Both butterflies and greeting were adhered with dimensionals onto the DSP layer. To finish off I have added a few Matte Black Dots.
I hope you've enjoyed this weeks cards and for more inspiration from the other lovely ladies you can hop over to Cathy Proctor's blog. Thanks for stopping by and stay warm (for those in southern Australian states) and happy!
