Hi to everyone joining in this weeks blog hop where we showcase all things Christmas from the Stampin’ Up! July-December 2021 mini catalogue.
This week I have used the Great Tidings Bundle from the mini catalogue. The set caught my eye and thought the Wise men and their patterned robes would be fun to colour using Stampin’ blends or the watercolour pencils.
The wise men images were stamped on Basic White card stock a number of times so that I would have enough for several cards. I started colouring a few and then managed to rope in my teen daughter to help as well and it ended up being a mindfulness colouring session! I really like how she did the colour blocking and used light and dark blends including Bronze, So Saffron, Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green, Petal Pink, Pumpkin Pie, Misty Moonlight, Real Red, Polished Pink and Seaside Spray (retired).
The card size is 5” inch x 5” inch square with the bottom DSP layer the same size using Simply Elegance DSP. The top card stock layer is Bushed Metallic in gold and cut using the gorgeous arch die.
Next I stamped the greeting and the star onto Basic White card stock with VersaMark and heat embossed with Gold powder.
For my second card I have blended Misty Moonlight and Night of Navy inks to create the night sky on the base layer behind the golden arch.
The blended card stock was adhered to the metallic layer and then onto Night of Navy base card stock. And the shadowed buildings seen slightly in the background have been die cut in Basic Black.
Please head on to the next participant for more inspiration if you haven’t already done so, the very talented Michele Taylor
If at any time you find a broken link please head to the blog of this week’s host of The Heart Of Christmas Blog Hop, Tina Gillespie, and she will have the list of all those participating.
Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by and may you enjoy the rest of your week xx
Your cards are gorgeous! The Wise Men are coloured so well, and I love how you've framed each card with that fabulous arch die.
ReplyDeleteWow, what an elegant look you have achieved, with all that gold, Rosa! The rich jewel tones with which you (or, was it your daughter?) coloured the wise men's robes look so beautiful. As always, lovely attention to detail.
ReplyDeleteOh what glorious cards, Rosa. Using the Simply Elegance patterned paper is stunning. I just love all the gold. The blending of your night sky is faultless too, gorgeous use of colour.
ReplyDeleteThe wise men in front of the die cut look fabulous. I love the one with the night sky.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards Rosa. As you mentioned the block colouring of the 3 kings robes is delightful. So love your blended night sky that sets of the Kings through the lavish arch. A great idea to use the Elegant DSP in hte background of hte other cards. Xxx
ReplyDeleteLove that you roped in your daughter under the guise of an mindfulness session Rosa! That gold arch is sensational and I especially love the second card with the dark night sky.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards, beautifully coloured. Not sure who coloured which wise men but is your daughter available to hire Rosa. Asking for a friend! :)
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful cards Rosa, they really are special. How lovely to share the fun of colouring with your daughter. Both cards are so lovely and I couldn’t pick a favourite if asked. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI find colouring very relaxing and you and your daughter have done a beautiful job an such great fussy cutting
