Colour Creations - Wild Wheat Week5

Hello fellow stampers! It’s Week 5 of the 2023-24 Colour Creations blog hop where team members of the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! demonstrators showcase a new colour every Wednesday. This week it is Wild Wheat the fifth and last in the group of 2023-25 In Colours.

I thought this week was going to be an easy one but changed my initial design and went with this fancy fold to ‘break’ up the Wild Wheat colour so it wasn’t too much at once.

I have used a new stamp set from the 2023-24 Annual Catalogue called Sweet & Precious. With images of parent and baby giraffes, sloths and penguins it is sure to be a cute set to play with!

This fancy fold is called a double bridge fold card.
My card measurements are:
  • Wild Wheat Card base - 21cm x 11cm
Scored at 3cm, 6cm and flipped over and scored again at 3cm, 6cm
  • Middle DSP (Fresh as a Daisy) (x1) - 10.6cm x 8.6cm
  • Small DSP (x4) - 10.6cm x 2.6cm
  • Front panel Card stock (Wild Wheat) - 15cm x 3.2cm
  • Front panel DSP - 14.6cm x 2.8cm

I have stamped the giraffe image onto Very Vanilla card stock using Wild Wheat ink to ‘soften’ the colour. It looked too stark on Basic White card stock.

The sentiment is also stamped on Very Vanilla card stock and cut into three pieces. Once I’ve adhered the various DSP panels and stamped image I also die cut some foliage from the Earthen Treasures die set. Both Pebbled Path and Wild Wheat card stock was used.

The foliage were adhered together and finished with a double bow of Wild Wheat In Color ribbon. To finish off some Wild Wheat In Color Dots were adhered to the front panel.

Colour Creations - Pebbled Path Week 4

Hi fellow stampers! It’s Week 4 of the 2023-24 Colour Creations blog hop where team members of the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! demonstrators showcase a new colour every Wednesday. This week it is Pebbled Path the fourth in the group of 2023-25 In Colours. I find it hard to describe if this colour has gray or brown tones. I think it depends on what other colours it is paired with and so its colour tones can change.

The Earthen Treasures stamp and die bundle provides opportunities to create stunning pots to hold these gorgeous leaves and stems.

My slimline card base is Pebbled Path card stock and I have adhered a panel from the Earthen Elegance DSP and then another smaller panel in Pebbled Path from the 2023-25 In Colour Assorted DSP. A DSP circle die cut using the Stylish Shapes die set is adhered behind the arrangement of pots and urns.

The colours used in my card include Pebbled Path (of course), Copper Clay and Pretty Peacock (a returning fave). I have die cut the pot handles using the coloured card stock and these really add more dimension.

The middle vase is embossed using another die in this set that only embosses and doesn’t cut. So you could use this to emboss panels and other shapes not just pots or urns.

The sentiment from the Earthen Treasures stamp set is stamped in Pebbled Path ink and die cut using the Stylish Shapes die set.
To finish I added some 2023-25 In Colour Dots that glisten nicely in the light.

Hope you enjoy the remaining blog hop where you can find more Pebbled Path inspiration from the very talented Kathryn Ruddick.

Colour Creations - Moody Mauve Week 3

Hello and welcome to another colour challenge. It’s Week 2 of the 2023-24 Colour Creations blog hop where team members of the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! demonstrators showcase a new colour every Wednesday. This weeks colour is Moody Mauve which belongs to the 2023-25 In Colours.

This weeks card is a Faux Centre Step card. I have used Fresh As A Daisy DSP and let the colours in this particular patterned paper guide me to select coordinating card stock and ink.

Measurements:
  • Card stock base 10.5cm x 24cm scored at 3cm, 6.5cm, 16.5cm
  • Card stock 2: 6.5cm x 23cm scored at 15cm
  • DSP panels:
    • 8cm x 10cm & 2.5cm x 10cm - In Color DSP Assortment
    • 5cm x 14cm - Fresh as a Daisy
After scoring the base panel I adhered the DSP Assortment layers to the second and fourth front section. The Daisy DSP was adhered to the front panel.

To put the card together I adhered the front panel to the card base at the bottom front and then to the back of the card.

The sentiments are from Timeless Arrangements stamp set. I wasn’t planning on getting this bundle but having seen what other demonstrators were making it managed to make its way into my shopping basket!

I just love the dies in this bundle and how you can arrange stems and floral pieces easily. The sentiments were stamped with Moody Mauve ink onto Bubble Bath card stock, one of the new colours introduced as part of the colour refresh. It’s a beautiful pink that pairs nicely with our feature colour this week.

Each sentiment was die cut with the rectangle label die in the Timeless Arrangements set which has a cute stitched border and a cross stitch…it’s those little details that make cards special. I have also die cut some stems using Moody Mauve card stock and the lovely 2023-25 In Color Luster Specialty Paper in Wild Wheat. This colour wasn’t really to my taste but the sheen in this paper really helps make the colour ‘shine’!

To finish off the card I have added some 2023-25 In Color Dots in Moody Mauve to the flower centres.

Hope you enjoy the remaining blog hop where you can find more Moody Mauve inspiration from the very talented Kate Morgan.

Colour Creations - Boho Blue Week 1

Hello fellow stampers and happy new catalogue time! The new Stampin’ Up! 2023-2024 Annual catalogue is now live! This means new products, new In Colours and also a refresh of Core colours too! Very exciting!

So a very warm welcome to Week 1 of the 2023-24 Colour Creations blog hop. Team members of the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! demonstrators showcase a new colour every Wednesday and to kick off we are starting with Boho Blue a new 2023-25 In Colour. I already love this blue as I missed the soft blue of Seaside Spray.

For this week’s card I have used some new products from the 2023-24 Annual catalogue. This includes the Countryside Corners stamp and die bundle and Countryside Inn DSP. I love this patterned paper with shades of different blues and white.

The card base is Boho Blue card stock and stamped with the small floral images from the Artistically Inked stamp set with Boho Blue ink. I have also stamped additional images onto Basic White card stock and fussy cut the flowers to be adhered later. This stamp set has carried over from the previous annual catalogue.

The Countryside Corners is a single stamp and you use the dies to cut frames of different sizes. Of course you can use the dies on their own too. I stamped the border patterns in Boho Blue ink and die cut them. It may help to use washi tape or a Post-it note to secure the dies in place when cutting to produce separate frames.

I have also die cut from the DSP with the little rabbit showing and adhered this to a die cut frame. The bottom ‘frame’ was adhered with tear tape and the top frame/DSP was adhered with dimensionals to provide depth. Next I adhered some of the stamped flowers and added Wink of Stella for that sparkle. The sentiment is from the Artistically Inked stamp set and heat embossed with White embossing powder and VersaMark.

Hope you enjoy the remaining blog hop where you can find more Boho Blue inspiration from the very talented Sharon Davern.
