I thought this week was going to be an easy one but changed my initial design and went with this fancy fold to ‘break’ up the Wild Wheat colour so it wasn’t too much at once.
If you find a broken link or have come to this blog hop from a different entry point, you can view the full list of participants on Cathy Proctor’s blog.
I have used a new stamp set from the 2023-24 Annual Catalogue called Sweet & Precious. With images of parent and baby giraffes, sloths and penguins it is sure to be a cute set to play with!
This fancy fold is called a double bridge fold card.
My card measurements are:
- Wild Wheat Card base - 21cm x 11cm
Scored at 3cm, 6cm and flipped over and scored again at 3cm, 6cm
- Middle DSP (Fresh as a Daisy) (x1) - 10.6cm x 8.6cm
- Small DSP (x4) - 10.6cm x 2.6cm
- Front panel Card stock (Wild Wheat) - 15cm x 3.2cm
- Front panel DSP - 14.6cm x 2.8cm
I have stamped the giraffe image onto Very Vanilla card stock using Wild Wheat ink to ‘soften’ the colour. It looked too stark on Basic White card stock.
The sentiment is also stamped on Very Vanilla card stock and cut into three pieces. Once I’ve adhered the various DSP panels and stamped image I also die cut some foliage from the Earthen Treasures die set. Both Pebbled Path and Wild Wheat card stock was used.
The foliage were adhered together and finished with a double bow of Wild Wheat In Color ribbon. To finish off some Wild Wheat In Color Dots were adhered to the front panel.

Hope you enjoy the remaining blog hop where you can find more Wild Wheat inspiration from the very talented Di Furniss.
Have a good week!

ReplyDeleteGreat way to showcase Wild Wheat, Rosa. What a good colour to use with the giraffes! I love the paper and glossy dots, especially. Nicely done. :)
ReplyDeleteFabulous card Rosa! I think it is so successful, because the colour is so correct for the giraffes - not just giraffe colour, but the colour of the savannah lands they inhabit. It's like everything is in context and it feels just right. Well done!
