Colour Creations - Blackberry Bliss Week 11

Hi fellow crafters! I’m back to join in with the 2023-24 Colour Creations blog hop where team members of the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! demonstrators showcase a new colour every Wednesday. Having been on holidays in the UK and then coming back home and catching a cold I’ve got some energy back to craft again!

This week’s colour is Blackberry Bliss, a very dark purple and part of the Neutrals colour family.

For my card I have used the Stargazing DSP, a space-themed patterned paper. This coordinates with the Reach for the Stars stamp and die bundle which is a great one for that space-loving individual. In addition to having Blackberry Bliss in the DSP I was looking forward to incorporating the planets into my card.

It’s a three panel card made using A4 card stock trimmed to 14.8cm on the short side. On the long side I scored at 9.8cm and again to create equal sized panels. The cosmic DSP layer was cut slightly smaller to allow for a border of the card stock base. One side (the top) was die cut using the Basic Borders ‘cloud’ die. Even though there are no clouds in deep space I thought it would add interest lol!

An additional layer from the same DSP was cut down and adhered behind the ‘cosmic’ layer.

The planets were fussy cut from the DSP, even the half ringed-planet on the paper edge, thereby using all of the paper. I had also die cut another planet from the Holographic Trio specialty paper using the Stylish Shapes die set and stars using a die from the Crafting with you die set. Loving the shine under the light from this paper!

The sentiments are both stamped with Blackberry Bliss ink and come from the  Crafting with you and Timeless Arrangement stamp sets. Even though BlackBerry Bliss is a dark colour I quite like the vibrancy in this card with the addition of Pumpkin Pie.

Hope you enjoy the remaining blog hop where you can find more BlackBerry Bliss inspiration from the very talented Ros Davidson.
