Heart of Christmas 2023 - Week 17

Hello and welcome to our very last Heart of Christmas Stampin’ Up! blog hop for 2023! Each week until 27 November the Art With Heart team will showcase Christmas cards and projects to inspire you to create your own.

Tonight I have made three cards to showcase the Traditions of Saint Nick DSP. This set of papers contain traditional images and colours as well as brocade patterns which could be used for non-Christmas cards too.

The first card has a red brocade pattern layer adhered to Basic White card stock. I have die cut St. Nick from the DSP with the matching die from the Saint Nicholas die set.

The arched frame is from a new bundle that is available now as an “online exclusive”. This stamp and die bundle is Garden Meadow and I have die cut from Basic White card stock and then dry embossed using the 3D Timeworn Type embossing folder to provide some texture. Although the embossing is a bit difficult to see in the photos. Behind the frame is another DSP layer showing home interiors at Christmas time.

The greeting is from Wishes All Around and  stamped with Real Red ink and then fussy cut and adhered with dimensionals.

The second card has the DSP layer adhered to Real Red card stock. The borders are die cut using the Basic Borders die set.

The stamped image using the Gift of Giving has been coloured with Stampin’ Blends in Poppy Parade, Old Olive, Pecan Pie and Smoky Slate (shadows on the marshmallow).

My final card has a patterned layer in Pebbled Path that was adhered to the Pebbled Path card stock and then Real Red card stock. The sentiment from More Wishes is stamped using Pebbled Path ink and die cut with a die from the Nested Essentials die set.

The Christmas images can be found on one side of the Traditions of St. Nick and have been fussy cut and adhered.

Heart of Christmas 2023 - Week 15

Hello and welcome to our third last Heart of Christmas Stampin’ Up! blog hop for 2023! Each week until 27 November the Art With Heart team will showcase Christmas cards and projects to inspire you to create your own.

I have made two cards using the Gift of Giving stamp set and the Merry Bold and Bright DSP. I stamped the image of Santa holding the tower of presents In Memento Black in and used Stampin’ Blend colours in L&D Poppy Parade and Shaded Spruce. I love that there appears to be more than 2 colours used but using light and dark blending pens and leaving some bits white the image is not entirely plain.

For my first card I’ve used Basic White card stock base. A layer of the Joyful Specialty DSP was adhered to Shaded Spruce card stock. I wrapped the Gold ribbon trim twice around this layer.

I’ve used a smaller scalloped die from the Scalloped Contours die set to die cut the image.

To finish off I adhered a double gold bow with a glue dot and some gold Adhesive-backed Neutral sequins .

For my second card I have used Poppy Parade card stock base and adhered a DSP layer to the front.

I created a pillar with DSP adhered to three sides which was then adhered to the bottom front of this card.

A deckled circle was die cut from Shaded Spruce card stock and the image adhered to this circle. This was then adhered to the front pillar. I then finished off the card with the Silver and White sheer ribbon. This beautiful ribbon just adds that bit of sparkle.

Please head on to the next participant for more Christmas inspiration the lovely and very talented Judy May.

If at any time you find a broken link please head to the blog of our host, the lovely Sharon Davern and she will have the list of all those participating.

Don’t forget to check back over the last two weeks for more Christmas projects. Hope you have a fabulous week ahead!

Colour Creations - Granny Apple Green Week 27

Hi fellow crafters! Welcome to this week’s 2023-24 Colour Creations blog hop where team members of the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! demonstrators showcase a new colour every Wednesday. This week’s colour is Granny Apple Green and it is part of the Brights colour family.

I’ve been missing the weekly team colour challenges lately but working on my Christmas cards I managed to come up with a project that was perfect for this week! Yay! And feeling super organised as I’ve managed two cards lol!

I started with the Granny Apple Green Foil sheet (also comes in Melon Mambo) cut to 10cm x 14.4cm and run through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine using the Christmas Tidings embossing folder. The embossed effect looks amazing using foil!

I strategically cut the panel in two pieces as I thought one piece was probably a bit too much foil/bling. This way I also managed to create two cards.

The first card is a split panel card where the centre panel joins the two outer panel fronts. I’ve made the two outer panels 5cm in height.

I have used Granny Apple Green and Shaded Spruce card stock in the layers. The patterned paper is the Merry Bold & Bright DSP. As described the colours are bright and bold patterns.

I have adhered a Deckled Rectangle layer to the base and the greeting from Merry Wishes is stamped using Granny Apple Green ink.

The second card is a simple fancy fold where the measurements of the flap was guided by the size of my foil panel. So the smaller panel was scored at approximately 5cm. Then approximately 19.8cm.

I’ve used Granny Apple Green card stock for the mat layer.

I didn’t want the inside of my card to be bare so I adhered a few more DSP panels. The larger panel allows for a gift card to be inserted.

Hope you enjoy the remaining blog hop where you can find more Blueberry Bushel inspiration from the very talented Christine Blain.

If you find a broken link or have come to this blog hop from a different entry point, you can view the full list of participants on Cathy Proctor’s blog.
