Colour Creations Azure Afternoon - Week 7

Hello fellow crafters! Welcome to the Colour Creations blog hop where team members of the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! demonstrators showcase a new colour every Wednesday.

This weeks colour is Azure Afternoon and is part of the Brights colour family. It is a gorgeous bright blue that reminds me of a vibrant blue summer sky. My two cards tonight are inspired by the colours in the Bright and Beautiful DSP.

My husband’s birthday is coming up next week and I thought that Azure Afternoon is perfect for a masculine card. My first card is a fancy fold that I CASEd from the Stampin’ Up! demonstrator Susan Campfield. It is called a ‘Double Flap Trifold’ and Susan has instructions on how to create this fancy fold.

I have used the Beautiful Balloons stamp set to stamp the front panel with the large balloon, party streamers and sentiment using Azure Afternoon, Lemon Lime Twist and Night of Navy inks. This was adhered to the Azure Afternoon mat.

The smaller side panels and card inner are decorated with Bright and Beautiful DSP adhered to Azure Afternoon mats.

To the inner flap I have adhered a ‘pocket’ to hold an additional sentiment tag. The die to cut the tag is from the Beautiful Balloons die set and the ‘pocket’ from the new die set Pocket Thoughts in the Annual catalogue. I tied some  Linen thread to the end of the tag so it can be easily pulled out from the pocket!

Some white Neutrals adhesive backed sequins were coloured with Dark Azure Afternoon Stampin’ Blends pen and adhered to the front panel. Even coloured they still give a lovely sparkle in the light,

A view from the side showing the flaps,

My second card is much simpler! Using the same stamp set as my first card I stamped most of the balloons onto the Basic White mat using Azure Afternoon, Lemon Lime Twist and Night of Navy inks. Two other balloons were die cut from card stock and adhered with dimensionals. The panel was adhered to the Night of Navy card stock base.

I really love the sentiment font from the Magnolia Mood stamp set and stamped with Azure Afternoon ink. The roundish die cut balloon was die cut a second time using the confetti die and the tiny stars were adhered with glue to embellish the card.

Hope you enjoy the remaining blog hop where you can find more Azure Afternoon inspiration from the very talented Tina Gillespie.

  1. Two fantastic cards Rosa, love your bright, happy balloon cards

  2. Great colour combo, on your fun and festive cards, Rosa. I love the stamped streamers, and the tag in the pocket, on the first card. Hubby will love it, I'm sure! I really like the combination of stamped and die-cut balloons, in those awesome colours, on your second card. Nice work with Azure Afternoon!

  3. Two fabulous cards, Rosa! How will you chose which one to give to your husband? There are so many fun elements and surprises in your Double Flap Trifold cord, I suspect you'll decide to give him this amazing card, but your second card is beautiful too.

  4. Your first card is fabulous for your husband and I am sure he will love it and such a great idea to revisit this bundle as it is so versatile.

  5. Brilliant colour combinations for Azure Afternoon, Rosa. The first one is so bright and cheery, and full of fun colours in the designer papers in a cool fancy fold design.

  6. Bright, fun, cheerful cards.

  7. Two fun cards Rosa! I love the fancy fold card, it's good to use the Bright & Beautiful DSP and I'm so glad it carried over for another year. Your second card is bright and happy!
