CCBH Daffodil Delight - Week 15

It’s another Colour Creations blog hop where each week we look at a Stampin’ Up! choose a colour to showcase. Our colour for this week is Daffodil Delight. My favourite colour is yellow so I was looking forward to using this colour.

I have chosen the Hand-Penned DSP with pretty floral images in softer colours such as Daffodil Delight, Highland Heather, Mint Macaron, Pale Papaya and Blushing Bride.

I have stamped onto Basic White card base in Daffodil Delight ink using a floral stamp from the new SAB set Delicate Dahlias. This is a FREE item you can pick up when you spend $A180 or more.

The next DSP layer is cut using Stitched Rectangles die set and adhered to the card base. Next is the tag layers that were die cut using Tailor Made Tags one of my favourites. These were adhered to each other and to the rectangle layer using dimensionals.

The greeting is from Sweet As A Peach and had been stamped with VersaMark onto Basic Black card stock. I have fussy cut the words and adhered each with dimensionals to the tag layer.

The White Glittered Organdy ribbon has been coloured with Daffodil Delight ink by rubbing the ink pad along it and left to dry before tying a bow and adhering with a glue dot. To finish off the card I have added Pastel Pearls and Opal Rounds.

Hope you enjoy the remaining blog hop where you can find more inspiration from the very talented Caroline Manwaring.

If you find a broken link or have come to this blog hop from a different entry point, you can view the full list of participants on Catherine Proctor’s blog.

That’s a wrap for this week and thanks again for joining the team blog hop.

Heart of Christmas - Week 10

Welcome everyone to the Art with Heart team showcase of some wonderful Christmas cards this week and every week until Christmas!

We’re in week 10 - wow! I’ve so enjoyed the variety of cards made by these talented ladies every week and very happy to stock up for Christmas now to avoid the mad rush towards the end.

This week’s card is inspired by a Canadian demonstrator Laura Seki @southridgestudiopaperart and our very own Di Furniss. It is a version of the swing-fold design.

The card base is Smokey Slate and the front panel has been cut from the fold at 3cm either end. The DSP I’ve used on this card is Peaceful Place. Even though we have no snow at Christmas in Australia I still love the snowy Christmas scenes as seen in this paper with lots of white, grays and silver.

The DSP front panels are 2.5cm x 10cm. Prior to adhering these to the cut panels I placed a 10cm x 14.25cm Window sheet first to provide a clear window to the card. I then adhered the DSP panels to the sheet.

The log cabin was fussy cut from the DSP and adhered to the front left panel with tear adhesive so that it can’t be seen from the back of this panel.

The middle DSP panel is 9cm x 10.5cm and has beautiful silver trees on it. The greeting is from the Encircled in Warmth stamp set and I have stamped with VersaMark onto Basic Gray card stock. It was then heat embossed with White Embossing powder.

The greeting was then cut using a die from the Encircled in Beauty dies from the Annual Catalogue. Before adhering the greeting, I used some silver Elegant trim that I wrapped around three fingers and twisted in the middle and adhered it to the back with Tear Adhesive. The finished greeting was adhered to the middle panel with dimensionals.

I just lifted the front flap to show the middle panel.

The inside of the card has a DSP layer from the same set cut to 10cm x 14.5cm. I’ve also cut a scalloped panel from the Stitched So Sweetly die set in Basic White to allow a written message. A greeting from the Holly Jolly Wishes stamp set was stamped in Basic Gray ink onto the panel.

Lastly I have added some Christmas tree embellishments using the dies from the Cloche set in Smokey Slate and Basic Gray card stocks.

Heart of Christmas - Week 9

.

Hi everyone! We are into week 9 for the Heart of Christmas blog hop bringing us to the end of August!

For the cards I’ve made this week I have used Encircled in Warmth stamp set found in the July-December mini catalogue and matching dies from Encircled in Beauty found in the Annual catalogue. I was thinking of masculine Christmas cards because of the colours used but they could really be given to anybody.

The DSP Peaceful Prints used is from the SALE-a-bration catalogue that’s full of FREE items you can receive with a qualifying purchase of $90 or more. A great offer!

To each Basic White card base I’ve adhered layers of Basic Black card stock and DSP from the set mentioned with colours of Garden Green and black. I’ve also added the reverse strip from the DSP which has been run with scissors over the edges.

The sentiments are from Encircled in Warmth and are really lovely and have been stamped in Garden Green ink and the other stamped with VersaMark on Basic Black card and heat embossed with White embossing powder.

These were then cut with the beautiful filigree dies from the Encircled in Beauty set. To finish off I’ve added some bows in Black and White Gingham ribbon.

Also I have punched out the deer from another sheet of the DSP using a coordinating Deer Builder punch.

And the inside of the card has strips of DSP together with Basic Black.

CCBH - Crumb Cake Week 13

I’m back again mid-week to participate in the Colour Creations blog hop for the Art With Heart team’s colour challenge. This week the colour is Crumb Cake from the Neutrals  family.

This week I have used a die from the Artistically Inked bundle and as I ran out of time making this card I’ve kept the design simple. This is first time I’ve used these dies but have seen some beautiful cards using both the stamp and dies.

On the Basic White card base I’ve added a gold foil piece from the Expressions in Ink Ephemera pack using Multipurpose Liquid glue.

The die cut leaves were coloured using blending brushes and the new In Colour Pale Papaya ink and Crumb Cake our featured colour this week. This was adhered also with glue.

I then stamped the greeting from the Biggest Wish stamp set straight onto the card base using Crumb Cake and Memento black inks.

Lastly I adhered a double bow in the Open Weave ribbon in Pale Papaya and another bow using the gold Simply Elegant trim with glue dots. A few 2021-22 In Colour Pale Papaya Jewels and sequins from the Ephemera pack to finish off the card.

Enjoy the remaining blog hop where you can find more inspiration from the next participant the lovely Di Furniss

Heart of Christmas - Week 8

Hi to everyone joining in this weeks blog hop where we showcase all things Christmas from the Stampin’ Up! July-December 2021 mini catalogue.

This week I have used the Great Tidings Bundle from the mini catalogue. The set caught my eye and thought the Wise men and their patterned robes would be fun to colour using Stampin’ blends or the watercolour pencils.

Great Tidings Bundle

The wise men images were stamped on Basic White card stock a number of times so that I would have enough for several cards. I started colouring a few and then managed to rope in my teen daughter to help as well and it ended up being a mindfulness colouring session! I really like how she did the colour blocking and used light and dark blends including Bronze, So Saffron, Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green, Petal Pink, Pumpkin Pie, Misty Moonlight, Real Red, Polished Pink and Seaside Spray (retired).

The card size is 5” inch x 5” inch square with the bottom DSP layer the same size using Simply Elegance DSP. The top card stock layer is Bushed Metallic in gold and cut using the gorgeous arch die.

Next I stamped the greeting and the star onto Basic White card stock with VersaMark and heat embossed with Gold powder.

For my second card I have blended Misty Moonlight and Night of Navy inks to create the night sky on the base layer behind the golden arch.

The blended card stock was adhered to the metallic layer and then onto Night of Navy base card stock. And the shadowed buildings seen slightly in the background have been die cut in Basic Black.
