CCH Calypso Coral - Week 9

Hello everyone! This weeks Stampin’ Up! colour for the Colour Creations Blog Hop is Calypso Coral, a sort of orangey-pink found in the Subtles colour family.

I find Calypso Coral to be a bright and happy colour when paired with certain colours and so inspired me to make a card using the Sweet As A Peach bundle and You’re A Peach DSP. The paper really brightens up gloomy cold winter days here in Melbourne especially while it is on sale with 15% off until 2 August!

To the Basic White card stock base I added strips of different DSP patterns and of Calypso Coral and then layered with Vellum card stock that was die cut using a scalloped die from the set Stitched So Sweetly. The vellum was dry embossed with Painted Textures embossing folder just to add a bit of texture.

The peaches have been stamped in Calypso Coral ink and cut with matching dies in this bundle and the leaves in Old Olive ink and die cut. The other layer is the sentiment stamped in VersaMark onto Basic Black and heat embossed with White embossing powder. It was fussy cut and adhered with dimensionals onto another DSP layer that was also partially cut with scalloped die.

I have rubbed Calypso Coral ink onto the Linen thread and tied a double bow and then adhered it with a glue dot.

Inside the card I’ve stamped more leaves and the smaller peaches along with another sentiment in Calypso Coral and Old Olive inks. I love the font for the greetings in this stamp set.

While I had my mojo going I made a second card very quickly using the same stamp and die bundle and DSP.

Thank you so much for stopping by this week and hope you enjoy the remaining blog hop and find more inspiration from the next participant Michele Taylor

Heart of Christmas - Week 4

It’s the end of July and we’re in Week 4 for the AWH Team - Heart of Christmas blog hop which continues with more amazing ideas to help you create your own Christmas cards.

The two main products I am using today is the Peaceful Deer stamp set from the upcoming Stampin’ Up! July-December mini catalogue and the other is the Peaceful Prints DSP. The DSP is full of Christmas prints in traditional colours of Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green, Real Red and Sahara Sand and is a FREE item with a minimum spend during Sale-a-bration starting 3 August until 30 September. There is also a Deer punch that coordinates with the stamp set and will also punch out the deer image on one of the paper designs.

For the first card I have used Garden Green card stock for the base with a DSP layer. The Basic White banner has been created using the pointy Basic Borders die and embossed with the Wintry 3D snowflakes folder to match up with the snowflake design on the DSP. A second smaller DSP banner was cut the same way.

The deer have been stamped in Soft Suede ink onto Crumb Cake card stock and fussy cut and then adhered to the layers. The wreath around the deers neck was stamped in Garden Green ink onto Crumb Cake card stock. I did several of these to use in my second card also. The sentiment is stamped in Real Red ink and cut using a die from the Tasteful Labels die set.

I looped some Real Red Sheer ribbon from the mini catalogue behind the sentiment before adhering to the card. And to finish some sparkly Opal Rounds plain and coloured using Stampin’ blender pen in Real Red.

The inside of the card has been stamped with another deer image - this set has four deer images and two sentiments combined in the middle stamped in Real Red ink. A thin DSP layer has also been added.

The second card uses a few more designs of the DSP cut in banner shapes in the same way as previously. The sentiment is from another new set from the mini catalogue called Holly Jolly Wishes and stamped in Garden Green ink and die cut from the Tasteful Labels die set.

I have arranged the three banners and adhered with double-sided tear tape together with the sentiment and some Fine Art sparkly gold ribbon and then adhered to the banner layer with dimensionals. Some more sparkle was added by way of Opal Rounds and Gilded Gems.

I have also stamped one of the other deers in Soft Suede onto envelopes to match with both cards.

Stampin’ Up! Cajun Craze Week 8

Hello everyone! I’m so glad that I have managed to participate in this weeks Colour Creations blog hop where we showcase a different Stampin’ Up! colour every week. I’ve been busy just trying to keep up with the Christmas blog hop that started in July but I guess this fifth lockdown has given me a bit more crafting time.

This week it is Cajun Craze from the Regals colour collection and a colour that I very rarely use. Luckily Stampin’ Up! have several coordinating DSPs in the 2021-22 Annual catalogue which helped and gave me the opportunity to use In the Wild DSP. If you love the big cats and the jungle look this is the paper for you! And the DSP is currently on sale with 15% off too so an extra bonus!

The Basic Black card stock base has been embossed with the Tasteful Textile embossing folder and I have layered strips of DSP and a rectangle layer cut using Rectangle Stitched dies. The tiger and greenery have been fussy cut and adhered with dimensionals.

The ‘Wild’ letters were cut from the Playful Alphabet die set onto adhesive sheets to make it easier to adhere to the card stock. The birthday sentiment from the Biggest Wish stamp set is stamped in Cajun Craze ink and fussy cut. It was such a simple and quick card to make.

Thank you so much for stopping by this week and hope you enjoy the remaining blog hop and find more inspiration from the next participant Michele Taylor

If you find a broken link or have come to this blog hop from a different entry point, you can view the full list of participants on Catherine Proctor’s blog.

Have a great week ahead and I know I will be bunkering down as we head into a cold spell unlike the other side of the world where other Stampin’ Up! demonstrators are sweltering in heatwaves!

Heart of Christmas - Week 3

It’s Week 3 of the Heart of Christmas blog hop for the AWH Team. Hope everyone is doing well and getting into some crafting time and being inspired weekly by the Christmas creations from the rest of the team!

So for this week I have another two cards where I have used the Classic Cloche bundle which includes photopolymer stamps and die sets from the upcoming Stampin’ Up! July-December mini catalogue. I’ve always loved the dome wonderlands of miniature scenes particularly winter ones (even though we don’t get any snow in Melbourne at all!).

I have been inspired by some previous creations from team members to create standard easel cards for today. First I stamped the Cloche in Smoky Slate ink onto Basic White card stock. The next stamp I used was the little snow capped village with the church which has three layers of stamping but I’ve just used two. Of course Stampin’ Up’s Stamparatus makes it so easy to align the stamp within the cloche and stamp again in Smoky Slate ink.

The next layer was stamped in VersaMark as I wanted this layer to be embossed in White using the embossing powder. I made several of these to use for other cards.

To build the Cloche scene I cut some Christmas trees in several different green card stock colours (and cut many to use for other cards) and placed them within the scene. The other layer I needed was ‘the base’ made up of Whisper White and Silver mirror foil die cut pieces.

Now to build the easel card base I just cut the Basic White A4 sheet in half and scored at 10.5cm and then scored again at 7.25cm on the long side. The other card stock/DSP layers in order from the bottom include:

  • 1x Evening Evergreen 14.5cm x 10cm
  • 1x Peaceful Place DSP 14cm x 9.5cm
  • 1x Smoky Slate (cut to fit around the next DSP die cut layer)
  • 1x Peaceful Place DSP cut using scalloped die from Stitched So Sweetly die set
All card/paper layers were adhered with tear adhesive and the cloche, base and trees using dimensionals.

The inside of the card has been decorated with the sentiment from the Classic Cloche stamp set and cut using a die from the In Blooms die set. Once in Basic White and also in Evening Evergreen and adhered with dimensionals to make the card stand. I’ve added more Christmas trees and left over DSP to the card inside as well.

The second card is another easel card but done in a landscape design. Similar layers but instead the large background layers have been cut in half to fit the panels of the Basic White card stock base.

The cloche is built the same way onto the lovely Tidings of Christmas DSP from the current 2021-22 Annual Catalogue. The inside sentiment from Holly Jolly Wishes is adhered to dimensionals to make the card stand.

Heart of Christmas - Week 2

Welcome everyone to Week 2 of the Heart of Christmas and team blog hop. We will be showcasing Christmas cards weekly until Christmas so please join me and the other blog participants for some inspiration.

Tonight I have two cards to show you that use products from the new Stampin’ Up! July-December 2021 mini catalogue. The catalogue will be available from 3rd August with some fabulous Christmas, Halloween and other products including gorgeous and sparkly Designer Specialty Papers.

The DSP I have chosen this week is Penguin Playmates and is a FREE product part of the Sale-a-bration period which also starts at the same time as the new mini catalogue. You can receive your free product if you have met the minimum spend on catalogue products. This is a great time to stock up on essential items as well as new catalogue items.

The card shows some cute winter characters that I have fussy cut from the specialty paper and adhered with dimensionals onto a rectangle layer cut using the Stitched Rectangle dies.

In the mini catalogue there is also a matching stamp set and penguin builder punch that coordinate with the DSP. This is next on my wish list.

I have used Blending Brushes to blend Misty Moonlight and Fresh Freesia ink colours to create the background on the rectangle layer. The stars have been stamped in Misty Moonlight and are from a new Christmas stamp set called Peaceful Deer.

The panel was adhered to another DSP layer with some Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon and Simply Elegant Silver Trim. This layer was then adhered to a Misty Moonlight card stock and finally the Basic White card.

To finish I have stamped the sentiment from Holly Jolly Wishes stamp set and cut using jagged circle die from Tasteful Labels die set.

The second card has a snowflake background layer in Misty Moonlight that has been dry embossed using the Wintry 3D 2-folder set. I have rubbed White Craft Stampin’ ink over the background to highlight the embossed design.

The snow layer has been cut from the Basic Borders die set using the cloud die. I thought it would be ideal for the fluffy mounds of snow! Again I have fussy cut the winter characters from the same DSP previously and created a fun snowball fight scene. I have cut the snowballs by hand and applied shadow using Light Smoky Slate and Blender pens.

The Christmas trees in the background are from another upcoming die set called Cloche Dies cut from Just Jade card stock. Lastly the sentiment is also from Holly Jolly Wishes stamped with VersaMark on Basic Black card stock and then heat embossed with White embossing powder.

Inside the card the stamped sentiment and trees are from the Peaceful Deer stamp set with the addition of the very cute fox.

I’ve enjoyed making these cute cards this week but please head on to the next participant for more inspiration if you haven’t already done so, the talented Cathy Proctor.

If at any time you find a broken link and the next blog doesn’t come up please head to the blog of this week’s host of the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop, Tina Gillespie, and she will have the list of all who are participating.

Hope you have a fabulous week ahead…it’s back to work for me after having last week off during school holidays.
