Heart of Christmas - Week 9

.

Hi everyone! We are into week 9 for the Heart of Christmas blog hop bringing us to the end of August!

For the cards I’ve made this week I have used Encircled in Warmth stamp set found in the July-December mini catalogue and matching dies from Encircled in Beauty found in the Annual catalogue. I was thinking of masculine Christmas cards because of the colours used but they could really be given to anybody.

The DSP Peaceful Prints used is from the SALE-a-bration catalogue that’s full of FREE items you can receive with a qualifying purchase of $90 or more. A great offer!

To each Basic White card base I’ve adhered layers of Basic Black card stock and DSP from the set mentioned with colours of Garden Green and black. I’ve also added the reverse strip from the DSP which has been run with scissors over the edges.

The sentiments are from Encircled in Warmth and are really lovely and have been stamped in Garden Green ink and the other stamped with VersaMark on Basic Black card and heat embossed with White embossing powder.

These were then cut with the beautiful filigree dies from the Encircled in Beauty set. To finish off I’ve added some bows in Black and White Gingham ribbon.

Also I have punched out the deer from another sheet of the DSP using a coordinating Deer Builder punch.

And the inside of the card has strips of DSP together with Basic Black.

CCBH - Crumb Cake Week 13

I’m back again mid-week to participate in the Colour Creations blog hop for the Art With Heart team’s colour challenge. This week the colour is Crumb Cake from the Neutrals  family.

This week I have used a die from the Artistically Inked bundle and as I ran out of time making this card I’ve kept the design simple. This is first time I’ve used these dies but have seen some beautiful cards using both the stamp and dies.

On the Basic White card base I’ve added a gold foil piece from the Expressions in Ink Ephemera pack using Multipurpose Liquid glue.

The die cut leaves were coloured using blending brushes and the new In Colour Pale Papaya ink and Crumb Cake our featured colour this week. This was adhered also with glue.

I then stamped the greeting from the Biggest Wish stamp set straight onto the card base using Crumb Cake and Memento black inks.

Lastly I adhered a double bow in the Open Weave ribbon in Pale Papaya and another bow using the gold Simply Elegant trim with glue dots. A few 2021-22 In Colour Pale Papaya Jewels and sequins from the Ephemera pack to finish off the card.

Heart of Christmas - Week 8

Hi to everyone joining in this weeks blog hop where we showcase all things Christmas from the Stampin’ Up! July-December 2021 mini catalogue.

This week I have used the Great Tidings Bundle from the mini catalogue. The set caught my eye and thought the Wise men and their patterned robes would be fun to colour using Stampin’ blends or the watercolour pencils.

Great Tidings Bundle

The wise men images were stamped on Basic White card stock a number of times so that I would have enough for several cards. I started colouring a few and then managed to rope in my teen daughter to help as well and it ended up being a mindfulness colouring session! I really like how she did the colour blocking and used light and dark blends including Bronze, So Saffron, Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green, Petal Pink, Pumpkin Pie, Misty Moonlight, Real Red, Polished Pink and Seaside Spray (retired).

The card size is 5” inch x 5” inch square with the bottom DSP layer the same size using Simply Elegance DSP. The top card stock layer is Bushed Metallic in gold and cut using the gorgeous arch die.

Next I stamped the greeting and the star onto Basic White card stock with VersaMark and heat embossed with Gold powder.

For my second card I have blended Misty Moonlight and Night of Navy inks to create the night sky on the base layer behind the golden arch.

The blended card stock was adhered to the metallic layer and then onto Night of Navy base card stock. And the shadowed buildings seen slightly in the background have been die cut in Basic Black.

Hear of Christmas - Week 7

It’s Monday night, Week 7 of Heart of Christmas blog hop and extending a warm welcome to everyone!

This week I have used some products from the Gingerbread & Peppermint Suite. There are many more bits and pieces in this suite but I have used selected items and they include:

  • Gingerbread & Peppermint DSP
  • Gingerbread & Peppermint Memories and More Cards and Envelopes
  • Kraft 6” x 6” paper pack

I participated in a team paper share and scored 5 cards and envelopes so managed to decorate these using the DSP and Kraft paper in this suite.

Card 1

All the patterned base layers have been die cut using the largest scalloped die in the Stitched So Sweetly die set. From the same set I have used the label dies too in most of the cards below.

All the sentiments are from the Holly Jolly Wishes stamp set and have been heat embossed with White Embossing powder onto the Kraft paper. I then sponged Soft Suede around the edge with a blending brush to give it a ‘baked’ look like the iced gingerbread biscuits.

Also the various shapes have been fussy cut from the patterned paper as I haven’t purchased the stamp and die bundle. The Real Red Sheer Ribbon is a returning fave from the 2020 mini catalogue of which I still had some in my stash!

Card 5

Here I have used Red Foil Sheet as a scalloped layer beneath the greeting.

If at any time you find a broken link please head to the blog of this week’s host of The Heart Of Christmas Blog Hop, Sharon Davern, and she will have the list of all those participating.

Enjoy the rest of your week - we have lockdown extended for two weeks and curfew!! Not many are happy but I could get more crafting done which beats scrubbing the oven or shower!

CCBH Cinnamon Cider - Week 11

Hello fellow crafters hope the week has been kind and you’re getting time to create some wonderful cards with inspiration from the team blog hops this week.

The colour being showcased this week is Cinnamon Cider, one of the 2020-22 In Colours family. I have created a simple U-fold card using the Blackberry Beauty DSP.

The card is 21cm x 15cm scored at 4.5cm, 5.25cm and then flipped over so that you score the same on the other side. I’ve used a bone folder to smooth down scored edges to enable the front panel sit upfront and the side panels open towards the back.

The front panel is made up of a Brushed Metallic card stock mat (9.5cm x 14cm) in soft gold and layered with Blackberry Beauty DSP )9cm x 13.5cm).

The sentiment from the Art Gallery photopolymer stamp set has been stamped with VersaMark onto Cinnamon Cider card stock and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I then added some Gilded Gems to the background.

The side panels are made up of Brushed Metallic card stock mat (4cm x 14cm) and another Blackberry Beauty DSP layer (3.5cm x 13.5cm) on top. I have added some foliage cut from the metallic card stock using Forever Flourishing Dies. The birds have been fussy cut from the DSP and adhered with dimensionals.

Front on the card stands up with the side panels opened to the back.

To fit the card in an envelope you can fold the side flaps to the back. This is what it looks like in the photo below.

For the back of the card I have used Very Vanilla in the centre panel and the same DSP for the side panels.

I quite like how this card turned out and having beautiful papers to work with helps! Hope you enjoy the remaining blog hop where you can find more inspiration from the next participant Di Furniss

If you find a broken link or have come to this blog hop from a different entry point, you can view the full list of participants on Catherine Proctor’s blog.

That’s a wrap for this week and thanks again for joining the team blog hop.
