Hi everyone! Welcome to another Christmas blog hop with the Art With Heart team…our second last for this year! My card tonight features the Poinsettia Petals die and stamp set which is an old favourite from the Stampin’ Up! 2021-22 annual catalogue.
The design is called a Cascading triple fold card CASEd from Di Furniss at Di’s Den for Stamping. This card started out differently as I wanted to use the Kraft card stock and neutral colour palette with the white Poinsettias but then morphed into what you see below. That’s what happens when you design on the fly!
I started with a Basic White base and as previously mentioned the instructions can be found on Di Furniss’ Facebook page where she has many fancy fold card designs.
The first card stock layer is Misty Moonlight and the second layers are a combination of several non-Christmas DSP including Harvest Meadow, Beauty of the Earth and You’re a Peach.
All the poinsettias have been die cut from the White Velveteen specialty paper and I have placed a thin shim when using the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine to ensure the veins on the leaves are more pronounced.
The berries have been stamped using Misty Moonlight ink on Basic White card stock and also stamped with VersaMark onto Misty Moonlight card stock and heat embossed with White embossing powder. The sentiment from the Classic Cloche stamp set was also embossed in white.
The floral centres have been die cut using the copper Brushed metallic card stock for some contrast. I used glue dots to build the poinsettias and then adhered them to the card with dimensionals.
The middle ‘back’ layer has a sentiment from Peaceful Deer stamp set, white embossed on Basic Black card stock.
For the middle ‘inside’ layer I have punched the deer shape from matching DSP using the Deer punch.
The final inside layer has an ornate frame die cut from the Ornate Layers die set in Basic White to allow a written message. I have stamped a sentiment from the Whimsical Trees stamp set in Misty Moonlight ink.
After I had taken photos of the card I decided to add some white Glittered Organdy ribbon that I’ve tucked in between the berries. This really made the card sparkle!
Please head on to the next participant for more inspiration if you haven’t already done so, the very talented Kathryn Mangelsdorf.
If at any time you find a broken link please head to the blog of this week’s host of The Heart Of Christmas Blog Hop, Sharon Davern and she will have the list of all those participating.
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your week ahead xo
Oh Rosa, this is a stunning card. I love how you stamped the berries in Misty Moonlight, then white embossed them on the darker card! The poinsettia flowers are gorgeous too in that white velvet. The mix of DSP work so well together, amazing project.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, Rosa, you have outdone yourself this week! This card is simply divine. Beautiful in blues, and the velvet poinsettias are gorgeous. Such a beautiful project!
ReplyDeleteWow, Rosa your card is gorgeous. I love the way you have used different non-Christmas DSPs - it all blends together brilliantly and is delightful with the fancy fold. The velvet poinsettias are beautiful, especially with the deep veins. All so lovely. Xxx
ReplyDeleteRosa, your card is simply stunning - such a beautiful colour combination. At first glance I thought you had used Very Vanilla with the Misty Moonlight, the colour combination is so soft soft and elegant and I love the mix of different DSPs.
ReplyDeleteRosa, this is absolutely beautiful. The combination of DSP’s, stamp sets and dies come together in a gorgeous and stunning card.
