CCBH Petal Pink - Week 35

Hello everyone! Welcome to this weeks Colour Creations challenge using Petal Pink in the team’s card designs. It is part of the SU Subtles colour family and a pale pink that is more on the orange side.

This week I have used the Flowering Fields DSP again and I just loved the colour combo in this layer: Petal Pink (of course!), Poppy Parade and Pool Party.

The DSP panel has been adhered to the Petal Pink card base. In addition, I have die cut a ‘frame’ using two Stitched Rectangles dies held together with some Washi tape to keep in place when using the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine. The frame is adhered with Foam adhesive strips.

The tulip flower pieces were die cut from Petal Pink and Poppy Parade card stock and the leaves and stems from Pear Pizzazz card stock; the latter sponged with Garden Green ink to match that found in the DSP.

I have used a sentiment from the Celebrating You stamp set, stamped with Poppy Parade ink onto Petal Pink card stock. This set has many handy sentiments for various occasions.

For the inside of the card I have used the ‘cloud’ border from Basic Borders and die cut from the reverse of the DSP used on the card front. The sentiment is also from the same stamp set as the previous sentiment and I have die cut it using the larger label die in the Bouquet of Love Hybrid Embossing folder and die set.

The final touch was to add some cute Brushed Brass butterflies to the sentiment layer.

Hope you enjoy the remaining blog hop where you can find more inspiration from the next participant, our regular host and the very talented, Cathy Proctor.

  2. Just wow, Rosa, this card is gorgeous! I love the way you've created the frame and picked up the colours of the tulips in the DSP to create matching tulips to embellish the card.

  4. What a beautifully put-together card, Rosa. An unlikely colour combination that just works so well. I love the die-cut tulips and leaves, and the way you've sponged ink onto the foliage. The position of the flowers and sentiment, over the inside frame, is just lovely.

  6. Fantastic card, Rosa. I love that frame so you still get to see all the beautiful DSP behind. The tulips in the corner are delightful with the brass butterflies to perfectly finish it off!

  8. Such a lovely card Rosa. I love the two die cut tulips and the GG sponging over the stems and leaves to echo the DSP. The frame design works so well with this busy pattern.
