Colour Creations Early Espresso - Week 18

Hi and welcome to Week 18 of the Colour Creations blog hop where members of the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! demonstrators showcase a new colour every Wednesday. Tonight’s colour is Early Espresso. This is the darkest brown in the colour selection and tonight I have paired it with Real Red.

I have been wanting to try the Carved Wood technique since I saw Gina K using it on a card recently. The card size is 6” inch x 6” inch.

took a Basic White square panel and scored lines every 3/4” inches. The panel was dry embossed with the Whimsical Trees embossing folder. I noticed the scored lines sort of disappeared so I had to re-score (is that even a word!) them. Gina K used her stamp pad to run over the embossed panel but I used a Blending Brush and Early Espresso ink. The effect is a little bit different but I think it gives a very worn carved wood look!

I adhered the embossed panel to another Basic White mat and then to a red layer of the Gingham Cottage DSP. Three-quarters of the way down I adhered a strip of the Real Red ribbon. This ribbon combo includes Garden Green and is from the July-December mini catalogue. I tied a smaller strip together with a strip of Black & White Gingham ribbon found in the annual catalogue. This layered panel was then adhered to the Early Espresso card base.

I fussy cut the very cute deer from the Storybook Gnomes DSP and adhered it to a scalloped circle die cut from Early Espresso card stock and a stitched circle die cut from the Sweetest Christmas DSP.

The sentiment is from the Brightest Glow stamp set and stamped with Real Red ink. It was die cut with the circle die from the Labels Aglow die set.

Hope you enjoy the remaining blog hop where you can find more Early Espresso inspiration from the next participant, the very talented Theresa Gerrard.

Heart of Christmas 2022 - Week 9

Hi fellow crafters! Welcome to the Heart of Christmas blog hop this week. I’m hopping along with fellow demonstrators on the Art With Heart team to showcase some wonderful Christmas projects every week until end of November. We’re into Week 9!

This week I have mostly used the Snowman Magic stamp and die bundle together with the Trees for Sale stamp set. My card is a slimline card using Basic White card base and measuring 21cm x 10.5cm, scored at 10.5cm on the long side.

To the card base I adhered a Smoky Slate DSP layer from the Gingham Cottage pack. The next layer was first inked up using Blending Brushes and Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent inks randomly over the panel. This panel was then dry embossed with the Wintry 3D EF. I then ran the Evening Evergreen blending brush again lightly over the raised embossed surface.

The Christmas trees from the Trees for Sale stamp set have been stamped in Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent inks. They were then die cut using the matching Tree Lot Dies. This die set also has dies to cut out the tree trunks and I’ve used Early Espresso card stock.

The snowman and rabbit are stamped with Smoky Slate ink and are from the Snowman Magic stamp set. The snowman’s arms are die cut from Early Espresso card stock and adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. The snowman’s hat is heat embossed with VersaMark and Silver embossing powder.

The sentiment is also from the Snowman Magic stamp set and has been stamped using Evening Evergreen ink. I die cut the sentiment using a square die from the Stylish Shapes die set and adhered to the mirrored Silver foil mat. A bow tied using Iridescent Trim has been adhered to the sentiment panel.

Lastly I added a small green Adhesive-backed pearl.

The inside snowflakes are from the Christmas Lights stamp set and stamped with Evening Evergreen ink.

I have also stamped the envelope with the snowflake stamp.

Please head on to the next participant for more Christmas inspiration the very lovely and talented Christine Blain.

If at any time you find a broken link please head to the blog of our lovely host, Sharon Davern and she will have the list of all those participating.

Hope you have a marvellous week ahead.

Colour Creations Daffodil Delight - Week 15

Hi and welcome to Week 17 of the Colour Creations blog hop where members of the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! demonstrators showcase a new colour every Wednesday. Tonight’s colour is Daffodil Delight.

This is, as the name suggests, a happy and bright yellow that is in abundance in the Hues of Happiness suite which I have used tonight to showcase Daffodil Delight.

To the Daffodil Delight base card I adhered a DSP layer from the Hues of Happiness DSP that was also run through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine using the Stitched Greenery die.

The flowers and leaves have been die cut using the dies in the Happiness Abounds bundle. How cool is that where you can use the die to cut both stamped images and paper images! No fussy cutting!

Before arranging the flowers I placed some White Frayed ribbon to the base with Tear & Tape adhesive. The sentiment from Celebrating You stamp set was stamped with Granny Apple Green ink and then die cut using the banner die from Stylish Shapes die set.

Lastly I adhered some Glossy Dots in Daffodil Delight.

The card inner below. The two sentiments is from the Happiness Abounds stamp set and stamped with Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green inks. The DSP strip is cut from the Sale-a-bration item Wonderful World DSP.

Hope you enjoy the remaining blog hop where you can find more Daffodil Delight inspiration from the next participant, the very talented Theresa Gerrard.

Colour Creations Crushed Curry - Week 16

Hi and welcome to Week 12 of the Colour Creations blog hop where members of the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! demonstrators showcase a new colour every Wednesday. Tonight’s colour is Crushed Curry.

I rarely use this colour but as there are quite a few DSP in the July - December Mini and Sale-a-bration catalogues that contain Crushed Curry then I couldn’t pass the opportunity to use it this week. That’s probably why I made three cards!

The first card is 5” x 5” inch square Basic White card base with a Night of Navy mat to which I have adhered a layer of Rustic Harvest DSP that has Crushed Curry in it.

The DSP frame is die cut using the Fabulous Frames die set from the Rings of Love DSP. This is a Sale-a-bration item that you can receive FREE with a qualifying purchase. I have also fussy cut the two little birds from the same DSP. When die cutting this particular frame you end up with two pieces. So I have used the inner DSP panel in my second card and replaced it with the dotty Gold foil DSP here. This is another Sale-a-bration item you can receive for free.

The sentiment is stamped with VersaMark onto Night of Navy card stock and heat embossed with White embossing powder. It is from the Celebrating You stamp set. A versatile set that has sentiments for several occasions.

The embossed sentiment is adhered to another die cut piece using the Fabulous Frames die set. A piece of Linen thread has been tied to the small frame and adhered behind the mat. I have adhered the little birds and added some In Colour Matte decorative dots.

In my second card I have used Crushed Curry card base layered with a Basic White mat and Rustic Harvest DSP black and white layer. As in my first card the frame and inner DSP are assembled but before adhering to the mat layer I tied ribbon (retired Misty Moonlight that was available in the Jan-June mini catty).

I adhered a double bow of Linen thread and ribbon. The sentiment from Flowering Tulips stamp set is stamped in Crushed Curry ink on Basic White card stock. It has been die cut using the oval shape from the All That die set.

Onto my third card which is quite simple with only the sentiment stamped in Crushed Curry. In Australia we have Father’s Day coming up on the first Sunday in September and so I decided to start one card early.

This one is also from the Celebrating You stamp set and I cut it into single words. With some bits of the spotty Gold foil DSP that was laying around I adhered it behind a sheet of the Lovely Layers vellum. The Gold foil piece was shorter than the vellum layer but I covered the join with the vintage car cutout found in the He’s The Man DSP.

To finish the card I adhered some Rustic Metallic adhesive-backed dots to the wheels.

Hope you enjoy the remaining blog hop where you can find more Crushed Curry inspiration from the next participant, who is also our lovely host, the very talented Cathy Proctor.

Take care everyone and enjoy your week ahead!

Heart of Christmas 2022 - Week 7

Hi fellow crafters! Welcome to this weeks Heart of Christmas blog hop. I’m hopping along with fellow stampers on the Art With Heart team to showcase some wonderful Christmas projects every week until end of November. We’re into Week 7!

I’m easing back in after my daughter recently  broke her foot and then I had a respiratory virus last week. I kept saying to the family…you know I must be sick if I don’t have the energy to craft! So I’m feeling much better and have more energy to get some craft projects completed.

This weeks card uses the Boughs of Holly DSP. As I don’t have the coordinating stamp and die bundle and use Holly and berry images I decided to fussy cut the poinsettia flowers from the DSP itself and arrange as a wreath on my card. The card measures 5” x 5” inches square.

The Basic White mat has been dry embossed using the Brick 3D embossing folder and adhered to the Basic White card base.

After arranging the poinsettia flowers in a wreath I added the Festive Pearls to the centres of the large flowers.

The sentiment from the Brightest Glow stamp set is stamped in Real Red ink and die cut with a label die using the Sending die set. A double bow tied using the Evening Evergreen Windowpane Check ribbon has been adhered with a glue dot.

For the inside of the card I stamped another sentiment from the same stamp set in Real Red ink. A small strip of Boughs of Holly DSP was adhered at the bottom together with a poinsettia flower off cut which I’ve added to the edge as it wasn’t the full flower. I try not to waste if I can!

Please head on to the next participant for more Christmas inspiration the very talented
