Heart of Christmas - Week 22

Hello fellow stampers! This week is our very last Heart of Christmas blog hop for 2021! It has been an amazing experience and a real privilege to hop along with the ladies from the Art With Heart team ❤️.

Every week I have loved seeing the wonderful and very creative cards and other projects that have been inspiring me to learn different techniques and to try them. I will definitely miss the Christmas theme as I love it but I know I can continue with weekly Colour Creations blog hop on Wednesdays!

Now for this weeks project I have made some shaker tags and a card.

I have used the Tailor Made Tags and Layering Circles die sets to make the two different types of shaker tags. Each tag has been put together the same way. The layers are put together from the bottom up as follows:
  • Basic White card stock base (some have the design stamped on)
  • DSP layer (if required)
  • Adhesive foam sheet layer (die cut using the selected shape i.e. circle or rectangle in this case)
  • See below on how to reduce stickiness of adhesive foam
  • Sprinkle of Subtle Shimmer sequins and tiny die cut shapes in coloured card stock
  • Peel off protector strip from foam layer
  • Adhere Window sheet layer die cut using the selected shape
  • Adhere either coloured card stock or DSP for the top layer
  • Decorate the front if you wish

To remove or reduce the stickiness from the edges of the foam adhesive layer you can just rub some fabric onto the edge. Most of it worked but some sequins still managed to stick!

The ‘bauble’ top is die cut from Silver Foil specialty pack using the smallest die from Tailor Made Tags. This was adhered to the first bottom layer.

The ribbons used include Polished Pink, Black and White Gingham ribbon and White Glittered Organdy cut in half and were tied with the Silver Elegant Trim or Linen Thread.

The baubles were coloured using Stampin’ Blends in Polished Pink, Mint Macaron and Misty Moonlight.

I’ll just finish off with a card that features another tag adhered to a Basic White and DSP layer that was then adhered to a Basic White base. The sentiment is from the Holly Jolly Wishes stamp set and stamped in Pool Party ink.

The DSP used in the projects tonight include Peaceful Place, Whimsy & Wonder and Sweet Stockings sets.

Please head on to the next participant for more inspiration if you haven’t already done so, the very talented Rachel Woollard.

If at any time you find a broken link please head to the blog of this week’s host of The Heart Of Christmas Blog Hop, Tina Gillespie and she will have the list of all those participating.

I wanted to say a big big thank you to my fellow blog ladies for all the inspiration they provide every week, their time in providing supporting comments and some funny stories along the way! Also a big thank you to everyone else who stops by and participates in our weekly hops - I hope you have enjoyed them as I have ❤️

Heart of Christmas - Week 21

Hi everyone! Welcome to another Christmas blog hop with the Art With Heart team…our second last for this year! My card tonight features the Poinsettia Petals die and stamp set which is an old favourite from the Stampin’ Up! 2021-22 annual catalogue.

The design is called a Cascading triple fold card CASEd from Di Furniss at Di’s Den for Stamping. This card started out differently as I wanted to use the Kraft card stock and neutral colour palette with the white Poinsettias but then morphed into what you see below. That’s what happens when you design on the fly!

I started with a Basic White base and as previously mentioned the instructions can be found on Di Furniss’ Facebook page where she has many fancy fold card designs.

The first card stock layer is Misty Moonlight and the second layers are a combination of several non-Christmas DSP including Harvest Meadow, Beauty of the Earth and You’re a Peach.

All the poinsettias have been die cut from the White Velveteen specialty paper and I have placed a thin shim when using the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine to ensure the veins on the leaves are more pronounced.

The berries have been stamped using Misty Moonlight ink on Basic White card stock and also stamped with VersaMark onto Misty Moonlight card stock and heat embossed with White embossing powder. The sentiment from the Classic Cloche stamp set was also embossed in white.

The floral centres have been die cut using the copper Brushed metallic card stock for some contrast. I used glue dots to build the poinsettias and then adhered them to the card with dimensionals.

The middle ‘back’ layer has a sentiment from Peaceful Deer stamp set, white embossed on Basic Black card stock.

For the middle ‘inside’ layer I have punched the deer shape from matching DSP using the Deer punch.

The final inside layer has an ornate frame die cut from the Ornate Layers die set in Basic White to allow a written message. I have stamped a sentiment from the Whimsical Trees stamp set in Misty Moonlight ink.

After I had taken photos of the card I decided to add some white Glittered Organdy ribbon that I’ve tucked in between the berries. This really made the card sparkle!

Please head on to the next participant for more inspiration if you haven’t already done so, the very talented Kathryn Mangelsdorf.

If at any time you find a broken link please head to the blog of this week’s host of The Heart Of Christmas Blog Hop, Sharon Davern and she will have the list of all those participating.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your week ahead xo

Heart of Christmas - Week 20

Hello fellow stampers! Wow we seem to be racing through November and I’m so glad I’ve started my cards early!

This weeks bundle that I have used is the Whimsical Trees stamp and die set. Very little DSP and more stamping from this set. The DSP that you see is from the main catalogue, the Tidings of Christmas.

Card 1

Non-traditional colour here….Fresh Freesia which goes very nicely with the Silver Simply elegant trim (MC) and the iridescent Wonderful snowflakes. The greeting is from Holly Jolly Wishes and partly masked and stamped with some 2021-23 In Colours jewels added.

A closeup of the pretty snowflakes.

Card 2

I have layered the DSP with Evening Evergreen card stock and then an embossed Basic White panel using the Wintry 3D EF. The Gold Shimmer ribbon was adhered onto the card layers.

Next layer are the Christmas trees 🎄. The tallest was die cut using the DSP decorated with some Gold foil garland. I’ve adhered the garland by adding an adhesive sheet to the foil before die cutting. The middle height tree has been stamped in Just Jade ink and the baubles in VersaMark and then heat embossed with Gold embossing powder and the same for the littlest tree.

Each has been decorated with (of course) a gold star! The greeting on Evening Evergreen is also heat embossed with gold powder and then fussy cut. Oh and I added in some Wonderful Snowflakes pieces I had lying around from a previous project.

Card 3

The trees have been die cut using the same DSP and one adhered flat and the other raised on dimensionals. For the stars, die cut using the Wise Men Tidings die set, I thought I would sneak in the Be Dazzling DSP retired from the recent Sale-a-bration catalogue as I hadn’t used it and wanted a sparkly star.

A close up showing the gold embossed greeting mounted on the brushed metallic gold card stock. I have also tied some Linen thread around the layers.

Hope you have enjoyed the cards this week! Please head on to the next participant for more inspiration if you haven’t already done so, the very talented Theresa Gerrard.

Heart of Christmas - Week 19

Hi fellow stampers! We are on the home stretch for the Heart of Christmas blog hop which finishes on 29 November! Wow it’s been so rewarding participating every week.

This week I have used the Painted Christmas DSP which has some really lovely prints in traditional red and greens. The Classic Cloche stamp set was used for the birds and sentiment in all the cards. The birds were coloured with Stampin’ blends in Dark Real Red, Light Smoky Gray and Dark Crumb Cake and I have used Real Red and Evening Evergreen inks for the sentiments.

Card 1

Real Red card base layered with DSP and the labels are die cut using Stitched So Sweetly and In Bloom die sets. I have added Real Red sheer ribbon and then layered the rest with dimensionals. The Rhinestone jewels have been coloured with Dark Real Red Stampin’ blend.

Card 2

The same for Card 1 and added the die cut bow from the In Bloom die set.

Card 3

The front panel has been stamped using the birds and foliage stamp from Classic Cloche to create my own DSP. The panel was coloured using Stampin’ blends in Light Pool Party, Dark Shaded Spruce and Dark Crumb Cake. I then added some Evening Evergreen jewels.

Hope you have enjoyed the cards this week! Please head on to the next participant for more inspiration if you haven’t already done so, the very talented Tina Gillespie

CCBH Just Jade - Week 23

Hello everyone back again tonight joining the AWH team Colour Creations blog hop. And this weeks colour is Just Jade! One of the 2020-22 In Colour collection and a green that I really like as it’s darker than Mint Macaron but different to Soft Succulent.

For my card I have used the stamps and dies from the Artistically Inked bundle and the Expressions in Ink DSP which is just stunning having the gold veins running through the water-coloured sections.

The DSP mat is adhered to Just Jade card stock base and the die cut floral piece adhered on top with TomBow adhesive glue. This layer was actually die cut from the same DSP but the reverse side that contains Just Jade and Evening Evergreen colours.

The birthday greeting is heat embossed onto Vellum with gold embossing powder and punched out using the Lovely Labels punch. I have also added gold leaves that were die cut. Some Gilded Gems were added to finish off the card.

For the inside of the card I have stamped the sentiment using Just Jade ink on the DSP from the reverse paper and then punched using Lovely Labels punch.

Hope you enjoy the remaining blog hop where you can find more inspiration from the next participant, the very talented Rachel Woollard
